I was just curious about this. My parents got divorced a few years ago and DH's father passed away back in August.
Are your parents married?
Edit: My parents separated when I was 19 years old so I was already out of the house.

They just celebrated 43 years
I sent them a card with a pic of our u/s (their first grandchild) saying sorry they had to wait so long. Ha ha.

I'm always amazed at long marriages. DH's grandparents have been married over 60 years! I think it's 63 this year but I'm not positive on that.

Yes. My parents, DH's parents, and both sets of my grandparents are still married.

My paternal grandparents were actually divorced (although my maternal grandmother died when she was 50 years old) and my maternal grandfather passed away when my grandmother was 55. I believe both of DH's maternal grandparents died fairly young.

Mine divorced when I was ten (married for 13 years)... my dad married my step-mom the same year, then they divorced when I was 22.
BUT NOW - my mom and dad are back together. They've been dating/living together for the last ~6 years. My mom says she's never getting married again... but it's so weird to go home now and my dad be there. -
Yep - 43 years. My dad is a saint!

My parents will be married 40 years this sept! We (the kids) are throwing them a surprise anniversary party but I'll miss it since I'll have a few week old baby 5 hours away.
Dh parents got divorced when he was in junior high.

@jojogirl - Yeah, it's pretty crazy. Especially when I talk to my friends that I grew up with... they're all like - wait, your parents are back together?
I can't believe it... but I guess it's what every kid dreams of! -

@belugabean - never in a million years did I think my mom would take my dad back! NEVER EVER. I wasn't surprised that my dad wanted to get back with her - he always told me that leaving her was one of the biggest mistakes he ever made. He probably shouldn't have been telling that to a 12 year old :o)

Nope, they separated in 2010 and got divorced finally late last year. It was not a fun time. DH's parents have been married for over 30 years. Divorce seems to run in my family - my grandparents divorced after 50 years, both of my aunts got divorced, etc. I'm hoping to break that trend

My parents seperated when I was 6, got back together (dad was unfaithful) they had my brother and sister, and then when my brother and sister were 1 my dad was unfaithful again, so then they got divorced when I was 10. When I was 16 they got back together. They never re-married and I doubt they ever will, but they've been back together for 8 years now.
Although I know my mom isn't 100% happy, but my dad makes a lot of money, and my mom just works part time, and wouldn't be able to support herself if she wasn't with him
A sucky situation.DH's parents divorced when he was 16 I think. Another VERY interesting reason why, but I don't think I should discuss his family matters on here.

To one another? Nope.
My parents separated before I was a year old and were both re-partnered by the time I was around two. They both remarried when I was six. So I was blessed to be raised, for as long as I can remember, by four wonderful and living parents. I am very lucky.
My dad and stepmum will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary next week. My mum and stepdad were married for just a couple months under 23 years when my stepfather passed away in the spring of 2011.

my parents divorced when I was 18, theyd been married for 20 years. my mom has been engaged for like 5 years but i dont think they will ever get married!

My parents were amrried for 37 years, before my dad passed away at 57. My DH's parents are at 34 years of marriage right now!

My parents divorced when I was about 4 or 5, I don't really remember. My dad has been remarried for 10 years and my mom got married a couple of years ago.

My parents got divorced when I was 9. My mom has since passed away, and my dad has been with my step mom for 17 years. They've only been married 1.5 though.

My parents just celebrated their 30th anniversary this past Christmas! They've been through A LOT and my dad is so strong mentally and emotionally for putting up with it all.

My parents separated briefly when I was 10 (infidelity on my father's part) and then got back together. They tried to "stay together for the kids" but eventually, they decided to get a divorce when I was 20 after 22 years of marriage. They are both remarried now.
DH's parents divorced when he was 6. His father is on wife #3 and his mother is remarried as well.

Yes, it will be 35 years this year! DH's are also married and it will be 40 for them next year!
