We have really stalled out on researching names for our little guy lately but I went on a baby naming kick earlier today and stumbled across a name that I'm kind of loving. I haven't presented it to DH yet. He can be picky so I'm nervous! There has been no name so far that's really struck him as "right."
Anyway, thoughts on the name Beckett for a boy?? Middle name will be Joshua after his dad 
Also, our last name is one syllable and starts with C.

I always think St. Thomas a Becket too...the martyr. It's a good name.

Ahhhhhhh now I'm even more excited about it It's way less traditional than the names that I've liked up to this point (Samuel, Evan, and Nathan) so I was kind of scared about how other people would take it.

Awesome name!
I love less traditional names- I taught a class of 11 new students the other day and had a much easier time remembering the unique names, I couldn't keep the popular names straight.

I like the name. Not sure how well it flows with Joshua, but I like Beckett. (If you know a Becky or Becca, though I'd reconsider.)

We have friends that just named their LO Beckett and I thought it was such a nice name! Boys names are so hard and I feel like it's both original, easy and has nice meaning to it!

I love it! I agree that it is unique without being out-there, and I think Beck/Becks is an adorable nickname. The only thing I would be concerned about is his initials would be BJ, but if you're cool with that then go for it!

I love it!!! I read a book a few months ago & that was one character's name. Unfortunately it doesn't go well with our last name. Hope your hubby likes it!

@hilsy85: @sorrycharlie: DH has this thing where he doesn't want to fully commit to a name until we actually meet the baby but Beckett is definitely now our top choice. I've read a lot of names and I don't think we'll find one between now and then that we like more. This one just seems to fit! BUT DH won't admit to that until the little man gets here lol.
Soooo it'll probably be our baby's name but that's not "official" yet
