I always choose fish and my husband chooses beef. And we split so that we can have surf & turf!
How about you?

Usually beef. But if the chicken has a delicious sounding preparation I'll go for that. I actually got the chicken at my own wedding. It was stuffed with cheese and spinach with a delicious sauce over it.

if they don't list what the exact dishes are i always go with beef. but if they say what each dish is, i choose whichever sounds yummiest.

@sarbear: Interesting! I've never had an invite that listed the exact dish. Usually it's just a choice of the protein or a vegetarian/pasta dish.

I always choose chicken, husband chooses beef. More often than not though there isn't a choice. Around here most weddings have buffet style food.

@banana: I think I've been to 2 weddings that listed each choice(I haven't been to very many weddings). I never get the vegetarian dish but the one wedding it sounded so good I had to get it. I was happy they listed the choices because I never would have picked it

I have only been to one wedding where the description of the meal was available, and that one I chose the fish (halibut in a vanilla bean sauce, and it was the best fish I have ever eaten in my life). Without the description I usually go for beef, DH also goes for the beef.

My husband doesn't share his food and he always chooses the better option. If it just lists the category, I usually go with the beef or fish, I'm picky about chicken and usually it's dry and swimming in some kind of sauce I don't care for.

Ha my husband and I usually do the same, too. I love getting to try multiple things.

Chicken. Rarely, vegetarian. But then, I've only been to one wedding that had a set menu. Otherwise, it's been afternoon weddings (fruit and cheese), potluck (that one was fun), or a vegetarian's wedding.

Always, always chicken....well, as long as it's boneless. I'm getting pickier the older I get!

Usually the beef. And the husband gets the fish. Sounds like a lot of us do that here!
