With DS I had a mild case of baby blues that really hit during week three. I hope I avoid that this time around! When did your baby blues/ postpartum depression set, if it did?

In the hospital when they said LO had to go under the lights for jaundice and I couldn't hold her.

I feel like it hit pretty quickly...maybe within week two of being home? All I know is that it hit me HARD and i didn't feel better until I finally went to my doc and got meds.

About day 4. It was the first week. Her pedi was here for a visit and I couldn't stop crying.

Within the first week my OB diagnosed me with severe PPD. Right after delivery my OB said I looked "shell shocked", and I have a history of depression and anxiety so it wasn't unexpected.

I didn't experience anything until 6 months pp. something happened in my life unrelated to baby and I went into a downward spiral. Not sure if it is baby blues or just regular depression... Doctors told me it can happen any time in the first year which is why I think baby blues.

I stayed in the hospital for three days, and the day I got home I started thinking about how much it might hurt when I had to poop. I started crying and couldn't stop for HOURS...
But after about a week or so I stopped being so weepy.

Around day 5-6 with #1.
I didn't have any with #2, but now at 14-weeks pp I am feeling rather PPDish.

I really hit a low point around 3 months, definite baby blues with random bawling, irrational fears, etc.

Day 1 when breastfeeding was much complicated than expected along with some added stress for family.

Baby blues almost right away. Mostly anxiety followed by the other symptoms. But I also had ppd, so I'm not sure I can distinguish the two in the very beginning. I really hope I don't get it again. I'd love to have no baby blues at all but I doubt it.

I think it set it once we got home from the hospital which was day 11 - everything was much more real at home and so much harder!

I don't know if it was the baby blues or just the accumulation of no sleep, but I was super tearful around week 2/3, to the point that DH called the OBs office and asked what I could take to help me sleep. I think it was more that I wanted to still do everything and it just got to be too much. I'm definitely going to accept more help this time around.

I don't know if it's baby blues or winter depression, but around 6 months PP.

Like @.twist., something unrelated happened around 5 months pp and I became REALLY ill. For me, it wasn't PPD, it was post partum anxiety/ocd. I was only diagnosed last week, after being sick for 9 straight months and seeing countless doctors and specialists. No one attributed it to anything post partum related and I didn't even know PPA existed.

My 'baby blues' hit at about 2 weeks PP, and by a month PP it was full blown PPD and PPA.

They came pretty much immediately .. Dd was in the nicu for a little over a week. After that I developed mastitis and broke my elbow while trying to care for a newborn . It was a difficult time.
At 2 months they were much better and came and went in waves.
By 4 months they were almost gone completely.
By 6 months everything got much, much easier and I truly began cherishing every moment!
