I've been having pain in my left breast for a few weeks now. I thought maybe it was PMS, but the pain stayed around. I've been off my period for over a week now, and it's still hurting. It started as a more widespread pain (aching and some stabbing, similar to PMS symptoms), but now I can point to the exact location. If I press it, it hurts way worse. There's no lump, and no other symptoms, so I'm not worried about breast cancer. But, I'm not breastfeeding, so I'm not sure what it could be..?

Well, I'd have the doc check it out, but we have terrible insurance. I'd have to pay any doctor's visit out of pocket. And, if they decided to do an US or xray, I definitely can't afford that.

How long would you wait out weird pain before getting it checked out? What symptoms would make you worried enough to go in? Anyone have any idea what this pain might be? If I eventually see a doc, should I call my GP or OBGYN?
