My husband's uncle just passed away recently and his funeral is next week. Would it be weird/odd/awkward/inappropriate to attend his funeral while being 26 weeks pregnant? I've heard everything from "It's bad luck from pregnant women to attend funerals" to "You shouldn't go cause you're carrying life while everyone will be mourning death."
I don't know what to do! What should I do?

I would ask your mom and see what she says! If she says no, then don't go! Koreans will understand!

Never thought about or heard about attending a funeral while pregnant! I would agree with chopsuey and ask your mom what she thinks is appropriate and just go with that, unless you very strongly wanted to go (or didn't want to go).

What does your DH think? Ugh. I don't like funerals so I wouldn't go.

@chopsuey119: I don't like funerals either. I don't know. I guess I won't go. I hope my MIL doesn't get upset about that. But I just don't really feel comfortable going. I mean, people will probably feel obligated to "congratulate" me but they would feel too awkward since it's a funeral. It's just a weird situation. I dont' think I'm gonna go.

I'm going to a funeral tomorrow. But I'm not showing so I won't make anyone else uncomfortable. And I don't come from a culture where this is bad luck so it doesn't upset me.

@banana: Yeah. You going will definitely be a distraction. MIL will have to deal. Make your hubs talk to her if she makes a stink about it.
