@fuzzypeaches: I agree with @BreakouttheIceCream - if you feel you are done, then that's ok, but if you don't feel your family is complete yet, then don't feel bad about keeping going. After the odds we've had in conveiving, beating the odds then failing the odds, it's all a crap shoot and you never know when you might luck out.

@fuzzypeaches: I use to google the same thing, and reading other people’s stories did always fill me with hope and give me the push to start trying again. I had taken Letrozole for one of my chemical pregnancies, so it wasn’t totally new, but I took it for the 2nd time when I got my rainbows. I only took 2.5 mg for CD 3-7. I didn’t take any Progesterone, even though my doctor prescribed it.

@breakouttheicecream: @Kaohinani: thank you ladies! This pregnancy has been pretty rough on me physically, but I’m not taking one second for granted. It’s flying by!

So the military giveth, and the military taketh away. My husband is NOT on the detail to return home early so this month may be another lost cycle! 😟πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜’😰😭😭😭😭😭 See the message I received (* please forgive DH's language as he is unbelievably upset):

@Kaohinani: I'm so sorry, that sucks. You're still not out for sure, right, there might still be a chance to catch OV?

  9. Kaohinani

    grapefruit / 4144 posts

@paranundrum: He would return at 11 dpo. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I usually OV between CDs 8 and 12. 😟 (Last month, I Oved at CD 16 but, I believe, that was due to having had surgery that cycle.) I feel so defeated at the moment as we believed we'd have a small chance to atleast hit O-4, O-2, O-1, O, and O+1. Now it looks like we "may" only hit O and O+1 .... and that is only IF I OV at CD 11 or 12.
Even more frustrating is being the board moderator on cycles in which I can not partake AT ALL. I always feel a bit sad those cycles. Like, I am an outsider (in so far as POAS) with a "job" to do regardless of my own feelings and position and I can't even participate. I just want SOMETHING to work in my favor (for once) as I am a fairly positive person but it becomes difficult to maintain my positivity when I am constantly knocked down. Ugh, so frustrated at this point.

So retrieval is Friday, so that will make transfer 7/31 assuming we have any 5 day embryos to transfer. I had set my POAS date as 8/7, but I'm wondering if I need to wait longer since I'll have a trigger shot in my system. I really really hate trigger shots. Feel like that's where some of my false positives last summer/Fall came from. Do I trend out my trigger? That also comes with its own level of stress and neurosis.

@Kaohinani: I can try to take over the board a bit more, but I'm not really all in either right now with the extremely low chances. I'm also still on vacation and not near a computer very often.
In any case I'm sure nobody will mind if you take a step back if you need space from active moderating. Do what's best for you!

  13. fuzzypeaches

    clementine / 950 posts

@Kaohinani: sorry girl 😒 this extra sucks when you had hope and it’s taken away. I don’t think anyone would mind if the board was just unmoderated πŸ’• you put a lot into this forum already! But no need to moderate if it will make a bad situation feel worse!

  14. yellowbeach

    nectarine / 2648 posts

@Kaohinani: Ugh I am so so frustrated for you. I know the feeling of needing to step away if you aren't in the game. You've seen me do that from time to time. Part of me wants you to just get rolling with IVF because in my heart I know it's going to work for you. As far as moderating the board, I agree with @Paranundrum - do what you can/want but don't feel obligated. I'm hesitant to volunteer for the official role for Aug as my POAS date is early and I'm afraid I'll be knocked out of the game by the 2nd week and then may need to step away. Point is, we all need space sometimes, so just take what you need and we will be here for you when you get back.

@Kaohinani: I just want to say, I don't think anyone wants you to be anything other than authentic. TTC is real life, you don't need to muster enthusiasm at a time that just sucks. I'm sorry you are going through this, but I am so hopeful that some interventions you have coming up could be exactly what's needed to get pregnant.

If you like, I don't mind stepping up and helping out with keeping up with the board.

    Ladies -
I took the rest of the day yesterday to avoid HB in order to process my emotions and look for a silver lining. I am still very frustrated at the situation but it is something that I can not change and need to accept. Who knows if I may ovulate later this cycle as well. I'm still having my AF (5 days, so far - one of the longest I've had since my son turned 1!) so I can only hope my ovulation will run late(r). Trying to keep positive.

@JennyLayneAZ: Thank you. It stinks because I had my hopes set on being able to DTD in a timely fashion. I also miss my DH a little bit but having him away for a month is not nearly as bad as his deployments. I'm keeping hopeful that I "may" have a chance ... we will see.

@paranundrum: Thank you for the offer. It was extremely kind of you, especially since you are facing your own set of odds during this cycle as well. You are amazing. I'm going to try and continue this board but I may need someone to begin the September board in case my IUI doesn't happen due to overstimming (* this has happened before but with TI, if you remember).

@fuzzypeaches: Thank you for understanding. I do like moderating, but, sometimes I find it difficult to do so when my circumstances make me question my luck and chances of EVER conceiving. I feel as though with some unmoderated boards, people speak past each other rather than to (or with) each other (* this does not happen too often on HB). I like being able to be a cohesive glue by responding (especially if someone needs it) and in posing questions or "games" to keep the board flowing. It makes the board more intimate, supportive, and thematically connected . Sam's Mom did this well when we would alternate or co-moderate. I appreciate the board for what it is - support- and I adore my POAS ladies. Thank you for being so supportive.

@yellowbeach: Thank you so much for being able to emphasize and sympathize. I will step away (with a bit less "guilt") if I need to. I'm still hopeful there will be a minute chance to "catch ovulation" with DH available to BD. I do understand and respect your hesitance to moderate. You have been through A LOT as well. I am truly hoping that this round of ART will be successful. 🀞

@crazydoglady: Thank you. I am always authentic with you all. I really am a positive person (which I strive to convey on the board); however, when "bad things" occur, it takes me time to reflect, process, and work through my emotions. At those times, I find it difficult to maintain the board as no one wishes to read [constant] posts from a "Debbie-downer." I, suppose, I see my dark times as something I shouldn't impose on others. In any case, I truly appreciate your understanding and support. If this cycle does not pan out, I truly hope that you are correct in that either IUI or IVF will bring me a bundle of joy. As to your offer that you would help with the board - thank you! I will try my best to continue with August; however, IDK if I will moderate for September (as noted in what I wrote to Paranundrum). If you and Paranundrum would like to co-moderate then, I would be immensely grateful.

  17. crazydoglady

    nectarine / 2431 posts

@Kaohinani: I hope you know I wasn't insinuating that you aren't authentic, but that all people want is for you to be yourself even with the ups and the downs. Don't worry about being a debbie downer.
In the past, most POAS board just had one person who maintained the "list" but no actual moderation. You guys have such a nice flow, I don't think you need a real moderator. I am happy to help with the list until the end of July.

I had to drop some papers off at the university and then I ran a few errands. I swear, just today I saw 5 pregnant women and 2 with tiny babies. My baby fever is running rampant! πŸ˜‚

@crazydoglady: Oh, no, I did not take offense in the least. I appreciate that you told me people don't mind me sharing my emotions. I am always on the fence about that simply because I don't like to complain. Thank you.

@Sams Mom: I'm glad you like the board's name. πŸ˜‰ (* Every once in awhile, when I receive notification that someone posted, the song earworms me as well! πŸ˜‚) Thank you for being empathetic and sympathetic to my "sh!t go" this week. How are you holding up? Are you excited about tomorrow's appt?

  20. Sams Mom

    grapefruit / 4492 posts

@Kaohinani: I'm excited and nervous (hence asking Jessie what gestation her twins were diagnosed). It's about 21 hours away and I am keyed up so much more this time than I was with Sam... But u also only had to wait like a week and a half with Sam, it's been almost 5 weeks this time.

@Kaohinani: none of us mind "complaints". I think it's part of what makes the board so real and relatable.

So, I actually do have something fun coming up in August! My company is hosting a "girls trip" 8/16-8/18 here in Scottsdale. We have a location in Vegas, so the three girls from up there will fly down, and we have one remote worker from up north who will come down here too. They used to go on big trips back before the recession and started them up again 3 years ago. First year they went on a cruise, I didn't attend because LO wasn't quite 1 yet. And last year we did the same thing we're doing this year, basically a staycation for most of us, since there are a few of us with young children.

So, I get to go have to a spa and resort and it'll be quite relaxing and fun. Looking forward to that. I'll be booking my spa treatments tomorrow. I plan on a facial and mani/pedi (that way if I do end up pregnant, I'll still be ok to partake in my spa day!). We have one pregnant employee and she's going to book the same thing (the spa does offer prenatal massage, but she just wants the facial). So, that's something to look forward to

@Kaohinani: thank you! I am super pumped, especially since I just made my spa appointments One of the perks of working for a smaller company!

(One of the bad things is sharing a 3 stall bathroom with only a few other women, which makes taking ovulation tests kind of difficult lol)

@fuzzypeaches: Talking Stick resort & casino lol I know there are a million to choose from, but there are some ladies that like to gamble, and there is a lot of stuff in that area to do that's close by. Plus several restaraunts in the casino and apparently a night club on the top floor if anyone chooses to enjoy that lol

@JennyPenny: Thank you. It is EXTREMELY frustrating (and a bit discouraging) but it's something I have to accept. Hopefully, I will OV later in my cycle this month. Good luck with your tingling ovaries. πŸ˜‰
