LO is nearly a year and I'm starting to get the itch to clear some things out. Up until now I was saving all his clothes (two tubs full of things he's outgrown at this point). I want to keep some things for if we have a second child but I really don't think holding on to all of it is necessary.
How much would you suggest keeping? A certain number of outfits for each size? Get rid of all of it?

I only kept things I LOVED on LO and basics that were "gender neutral" 
I figure I want to add to the wardrobe for LO2 if she's a girl and if he's a boy than he will need mostly a whole new wardrobe anyway (hypothetical future LOs here).

@dojo: I consigned anything I didn't love but kept the rest. It seems impractical to me to rebuy it all, even if it would be fun. If we have a girl, she will be wearing the bulk of the same clothes with a few pieces added.

I kept everything but my LO's are going to be close in age so there wasn't much time to think about it.

I kept everything for #2 but I think I will filter out super stained stuff and things I don't like for a future #3..

I had the space so I kept it all and it all came in handy, especially since I had another boy born in the same season. He's a bit longer/taller overall but is still able to wear his big brother's clothes since I always have the bigger sizes to take out when he needs it. With our second, I've given all the basic and play wear ones away and kept all the nicer ones in hopes that my sister will one day have a boy and I can give it all to her b/c most of the nicer clothes were given to my oldest by my parents. So it'll be nice to be able to pass those on if she has a child in the near future.
Now, if I don't have the space like we do right now I would keep some basics and all the nice ones and donate ones that I have no attachment to.

@dojo: You only have two tubs?? I have toe for each size, well one for newborn. I am keeping everything incase we have another girl. Also we got a lot of hand downs so we are still keeping those in case someone else has a girl to pass along too.

We don't have any space and are unsure of future LOs, so I kept what I really loved and gave away/donated/sold the rest.

I kept everything except what was a hand me down that I really didn't like. Now I'm expecting another boy and just started going through the old clothes. I'm being a bit pickier and getting rid of hand me down clothes that I was just "ok" with because I know I will end up buying more new things even though it's another boy. I found the bottoms were in better condition than the tops.

Thanks for the input! I think we are going to keep a handful of things from each size mostly neutral colors. We had way too much just because I went a little nuts buying clothes and I doubt I would want so much stuff for the first year with another! Going through them is hard though! They're so cute and so tiny!
