Had a patient today whose name was Zara! I looove it. It's spunky, different and fun. I hadn't heard it as someone's actual name until today, but I really liked it.

It's not my style but I think it's a really pretty name!!
@Mrs. Pen: I was working for a medical group with patients while I was pregnant with E and seeing patients with so many different names gave me SO many name ideas! I had a list at work where I'd write down patients names that I loved

I think it's a pretty name, but I'm eh about actually using it. Reminds me of the clothing store...

It was my top choice for awhile. DH was not on board, so I abandoned it. Plus, he kept telling me that people would think about the store. Sigh...

I like it, but it does make me think of the clothing store.
But Zora was on my list for a while...pretty close.

I know someone my age IRL with the name. It's not my style, but I don't hate it.

I love it, not my normal style but I love the sound of it!

I love Z names... Zahara is really pretty and gives it a little more oomph.

I like Zara, but since there's a well-known, world wide clothing store with that name, I probably wouldn't use it. I should know. My name is also a super well known women's clothing store and I pretty much hear about it every single day of my life.

It actually makes me think of Zara Phillips rather than the clothing store. I really like it!

I voted meh because I like it, but worry everyone would pronounce it differently

@Anagram: I too am cursed with a well known clothing line. I don't hear it quite once a day anymore, but certainly once a week.
Usually in a question along the lines of "Oooh, what's your secret."
Yawn. I've never heard that before. How original!

@Mrs. Jacks: haha...mine's a first AND last name (probably giving it away now). People always start off with, "You probably hear this all the time, but....."

Oh I know a little Zara, and I love it!
@rahlyrah: It is "zah rah." at least the one I know

@MamaMoose: That's why I liked it. I put it on my future baby name list after seeing her at William & Kate's wedding.

I've liked that name since I was a kid in England and heard it on Zara Phillips! One of DH'a colleagues just used it.

@Alivoo01: @BKCaribBaby: @mrsjazz: @Anagram: @NorCalWayfarer: @Mrs. Jacks: you know what's funny is that I'd never heard of the clothing store before hellobee! Neither had DH. In fact I highly doubt most Midwesterners would be familiar with it (in the same way that no one hear is familiar with the fact that Jacobi is a somewhat well-known name on the east coast thanks to a few athletes)... So the fact that it is a brand name means little to me personally I love the name for the sound.
@Mrs. Jacks: love Zahara too! I picture that as a very exotic and strong woman... Like Amazonian almost
@rahlyrah: I think I would say zahr-ra, so not rhyming with Sarah.

Yes I had a Zarah in my kindergarten class a few years ago! Such a pretty name!
