Gonna be short and sweet lol
Well as some of you may know, I had a high risk pregnancy. I was diagnosed with GD at 11 weeks and have chronic high BP so I was dealing with that immediately as well. So, things were complicated through out and we were put on bed rest at 33 weeks due to my high BP.
We planned an induction for 37 weeks 2 days @ 6am.
I was hooked up to pitocin ,even though I was already contracting and 3cm when I arrived, by 7am.
I was 4cm around 8am and received my epi.
At 11am I started shaking and told my DH to get my nurse because I knew I was in transition. I was then checked again and was at 8cm.
Within 15min I was feeling the pressure to push and was checked again to find that I was 10cm and it was go time.
They told me to do a 'practice push' and quickly told me to stop pushing because her head was almost out and the dr wasn't there yet.
Within seconds I was told that my dr was seen running through the parking lot from the practice next door. She must be a fast runner because I swear she was there in seconds.
I pushed through two contractions a total of 4 times I believe and Baby girl was born at 11:36am weighing 7lbs 13oz and was 20.5inches long.
I had no tears or stitches. I had a minor 'abrasion' which didn't give me any trouble really.
It was wonderful to have such an easy delivery after all I went through during my pregnancy but then it became worrisome because baby girl wasn't doing so well.
She came out so fast that she was in shock. She had to be suctioned all the way down to her belly because none of the fluid had come out during delivery. She also wasn't breathing correctly so she was placed under the oxygen hood for 12hours in the special care nursery. She also had low blood sugar and had an iv with Dextrose and after her chest xray they saw a spot on her lungs so she was also given iv antibiotics.
I was able to have skin to skin for less than a minute before she had to be taken away. My DH didn't get to hold her for those 12hours after. He held her for the first time the next day.
We were able to visit her in the nursery but not without the monitors.
She was finally allowed to come to our room the next day but was hooked up to the iv's the whole time. It was very difficult to say the least.
Luckily though she has been absolutely wonderful and is now totally healthy. She is 10lbs and 22inches long at 6weeks.
We are blessed to say the least.
Here are a couple more pictures of our sweet Anna Marie.
