I can't remember when this happened but she was already walking- maybe a year and a half? We got to the park and she was so excited that she took off running and face planted on the rubbery grippy surface- which is great for avoiding broken bones but left such a bad scrape on her face. I felt so bad. I'm sure that wasn't her first injury but it's the first one that came to mind with your story. It happens to all of us.

Haha no. Once R could pull up he was a disaster and got daily head injuries! I don't remember Ts first injuries either!

I just remember one bad bruise. DS was a new walker (10 months) and he was running through our living room. He tripped over his own feet and landed right on our coffee table. He got a huge lump of a bruise above his eye on his forehead. Poor baby. We then moved our table down into the basement!!

It was just the first of many bumps and bruises!

Along the same lines of @alba4, on Wednesday, DS who is 15 months old, tried walking with his blanket and tripped. He fell into our oak coffee table and hit his forehead right above his eye. Luckily, he just has a red line & a bruise from it.

PS that table is being moved to the garage when we move next week LOL.

Poor little guy (& mama!).

DD pitched herself backwards out of my arm (I was holding something else in the other ) at 4mos I think it was & did a back flip landing face first on the concrete floor. I thought sure I'd ruined her, but she checked out ok at the Dr. It was traumatic for me & I'm not sure I've yet forgiven myself! I know she'll have injuries, but the risk of a head injury at 4mos just rocked me, so I'm so much more careful while holding her now.

Poor guy! LO1 went down a little slide at the playground maybe just before a year and somehow managed to tilt to the slide and hit his lip on his tooth. Blood was everywhere! LO2 was in the yard and I had to grab something from the car. In that minute, he climbed up the 3 steps to our deck and was climbing down backwards when he went off the side. He got a fat lip and gouge onn his forehead that still shows a scar. It was over the summer so about 15 months I'd guess. I'm sure these were not the first injuries but we're the first bloody ones which is why that stand out to me.

Kids are a lot tougher than we give them credit for so I'm sure your LO will be 100% in no time!

We didn't lower the crib in time, and DD managed to pull herself up (had no idea she could do this) and fall out of her crib head first Onto the hardwood floor

I watched it all happen on the video monitor , bolting into her room just as she fell. I rushed her to our Dr and thankfully she was fine!

I'm sure it wasn't the first, but very memorably, an hour before his one year well baby check, he banged his head on a table and had a giant red goose egg. I was so embarrassed taking him in like that but his pedi was so nice about it, cracking a joke about how all parents want to bubble wrap everything at this stage (he was trying to cruise/walk). He was totally fine, just a small bruise for a couple days.

At 15 months he's had soo many injuries including a couple fat lips and a black eye, but mostly for minor things like face planting on his own.
On halloween this past year at 11 months he was standing and leaned down to touch a pumpkin and half-fell (I had him with one hand) and his cheek scraped the pumpkin stem! It was so bad, bleeding and sooo red, and was the day before family pictures! Took a couple weeks to completely heal. Who knew a pumpkin could do so much damage!
