My husband is an engineer for UP railroad and has been laid off since the end of August. Layoff's are normal but usually only last a month.

At first they were telling him he'd back to work right after Thanksgiving, then the 1st of January, now they've set the arbitration meeting up for next week and they could be back to work the 1st of Feb.
Our medical benefits run out the end of this month, and Maddy has her 4 month well baby appt + shots coming up on the 13th of Feb.

Yesterday his union rep called him about this arbitration meeting (in the beginning of all of this they said he was 100% coming back, no arbitration).
It could go 1 of 3 ways;
1) The superintendent will call him and offer his job back and he can say yes or no with no backlash.
2) The arbitration board will say yes bring him back with back pay to the lay off date.
3) The arbitration board could say no, he's fired for good.

If he takes his job back from the superintendent then he'll get no back pay and he'll still have to attend the meeting. The board can over rule the superintendent and tell him no as well.
The rep also told him that out of all the guys they laid off he is the only one that the superintendent is recommending they bring back. The only good part of this whole thing.

I'm about at my wit's end. I'm praying harder than I ever have before, we need his job back STAT! Could you please keep us in your thoughts, we're on the verge of sinking majorly if something doesn't happen soon.
