Did any one else experience a constant bad taste in their mouth while pregnant? I'm eight weeks today and for the past three days I've had a really bad taste in my mouth. It's not the metallic taste that some people mention, my mouth just feels like I didn't brush my teeth today. Yuck! No matter what I eat or drink as soon as I'm done the bad taste is back.

Yes I had this very badly in the 1st trimester It was terrible. Sometimes it was metallic and sometimes it was just a bad taste. I tried switching prenatal vitamins and realized that some brands made a slight difference but I was never able to get rid of the bad taste altogether.

I had a bit of the metallic-y taste but it was short-lived.

I had a bitter taste in my mouth on Easter! Few days after fertilization/implantation? Food started tasting normal a couple of hours later though.

Luckily I didn't have that. Have you tried mints or gum?

@artbee: Mints or gum don't help. It's fine when it's in my mouth but as soon as I spit the gum out the bad taste come right back! And I have TMJ so I can't chew gum all day or I'll seriously regret it later.
The worst part about it is that it's making it really hard for me to get water down because the bad taste in my mouth makes the water taste kind of gross.

I've had the same problem for a lot of my second trimester. I use a lot of mouth wash since it's easier than brushing on the go and a lot of tic tacs and lifesaver mints. It definitely is no fun, I can totally sympathize with you!
