Ever had a day when you're just generally pissed off at your job (not even at people.. just your job in general) and you just want to leave and never come back?
The sad thing is, I actually really love my job! It's just a bad work day.
The torrential downpour rain and the pregnancy hormones are not helping. 
I think I need a walk through the galleries.
What do you do to cheer yourself up during a particularly annoying work day?

If I'm having a bad day, I usually have to leave for a couple minutes to get fresh air or run to the gas station to get a snack. A lot of time I will call up one of my good friends (who works at the same place) and we will take a quick walk around the block. Just anything to get me out of the office for a few minutes.

Man if I worked at the MFA I would totally just to a tour to make myself feel better. Is Chihuly still there? That exibhit was beautiful!
Here I'm pretty trapped. But I'll get my friend to just go for a walk with me outside. The fresh air always helps improve my mood.

Sometimes I just leave. I realize that not everyone has that kind of flexibility, but as long as I don't have any deadlines, meetings, or phone conferences, I just pack it up and head to the house (although I rarely do this - this is typically reserved for those days where I am just hating the work and am not being productive.)
Otherwise I get a drink/snack, close my door, play some tunes, and just try to find a happy place for 20 minutes or so. Then I make a small to-do list and once I have completed it, consider the day a success and close up shop. Sometimes just straightening up my office, i.e., busy-work to burn off some anxiety, is a good frustration reducer, too.

We have a mall nearby so if I'm hating my work day, I'll take my lunch break by walking around the mall. Nothing like retail therapy!

@banana: I thought about doing that but was worried I'd spend money. So, I just went driving around (which wound up costing money on gas anyways...)

@highwire: Yeah, that's the hard part about walking around the mall. I like going into Sephora and trying on make up to kill time and not spend money.

@banana: At my previous job, the Galleria was right across the street from work. It made Christmas shopping a breeze, but I enjoyed having lunch and people watching!
I work downtown now, and it's not like Chicago or NY's downtown. It's full of old, vacant buildings so when I need a breather, I just walk around a couple blocks.

@Alivoo01: I totally forgot about how nice it is during the holidays! I just walk down to the mall and get my shopping down without the hassle of finding parking. People watching is always fun. There are a lot of SAHMs in my area so it's fun to just watch them interact with their babies and to see all of the fun gear they have (especially strollers and diaper bags)!

I work by the water so I'm able to pop out during lunch and walk around the harbor.
