Ugh, both DH and I need to work this weekend. And my guess is DH will leave LO with me when he goes to the office. I've taken LO to the office and he's okay there but he can only entertain himself so much. I'm thinking about putting him in the conference room, he loves pushing chairs around.
Working moms, what do you do when both of you have to work the weekend? (No family around)

My Mom would have her/eventually them, however if she wasn't available I would be more on top of finding a high school aged or university aged sitter to come to our place, and have for when babysitting is needed!

If I have to put in hours on the weekends I only agree to working from home remotely.

I've only done it once when LO was 14 months and I just took her with me. DH can't take her to work.

I don't ever have to work on the weekends usually. DH sometimes works Saturdays. Most likely it'd be me at home with DS and working through nap times. (Or my mom since we have her nearby)

@littlek: we used to have grandma come watch him. Or I would suck it up and just work from home during nap time (which amounted to 2.5 hours) DH didn't have that option.

Luckily when we had this issue we have empty offices, so I knew DD wasn't disturbing anyone. I would bring a ton of toys, but usually the office furniture was new and fun enough. Also, food - lots of snacks!
But, it's definitely not the most productive of days, and DD didn't last more than 4 hours or so before I had to take a break. She was young enough that she was able to nap in a pack n play in a nearby office, which was wonderful!

@winniebee: yay unfortunately nap time is 2 - 3 hours and I have a full day of work. Client delivering info Friday night and has to be turned around by Monday. Partner wants to review Sunday.

@littlek: do u have a babysitter I can ask to watch him? What about one of his teachers? Ours used to babysit on the side.

DH and I can both work from home most of the time so we've been able to trade off. It's an awful way to spend a weekend.

We can both work from home on the weekends so it's a game of Tag, You're it with watching LO. I always feel bad about it but she seems to still have a great time playing around and just being around Mommy and Daddy.

@littlek: Can you stagger? Hubs works Saturday you work Sunday? If that's not an option I agree with @winniebee:'s suggestion to see if one of B's teachers can babysit.

I usually save my work for nightime after she's in bed. DH will usually try to work from home and that usually works. I hate not having a weekend nights, but it's the only way.
