I want to get my son a balance bike for his second birthday. If your LO used a balance bike at two, which one did you choose?

My brother is a bicycle expert (has worked in the bicycle industry for a decade & an enthusiast/bike commuter, etc), he got J a Strider for his second birthday. It's great! He still uses it at 3.5.

We have and love our Kazaam, but the Strider was a strong contender. D works in the bike industry and the Kazaam was his final choice.

@lovehoneybee: Did you have any issues with the seat pointing down and your LO slipping off of it? I've read some complaints about that issue in the reviews, but most reviewers are positive so I'm wondering if that's really an issue.

Sounds like a husband decision for most! DH is a mountain/downhill biker and he chose this one by Giant. Still waiting for it to come in though, so LO hasn't tried it yet. http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-ca/bikes/model/pre.push.bike/20477/80114/

Yep, the strider balance bike is closest in geometry and function and such to a 'real' bike, so if you're bike people, it's the best one. It's also the smallest bike I could find, so it was good for my very small 2 year old. She took a while to catch on, but now uses it extensively.

Thanks for all the recommendations! The Strider seems like the best option for a metal bike since my LO is on the shorter side.
