DD got a Strider (classic) Balance bike last Christmas. She was about 25 months old at the time and I thought it'd be a great gift (from my parents), but she just never took to it.. We've tried adjusting the seat up and down to see what's comfy, but I guess the whole set up is just awkward for her, and she doesn't care for it
She also has a Radio flyer Trike (4-in1). She tries to ride it but for the most part, does not do well with the pedals, or riding in general. She just scoots along with her feet, and I've noticed she does this at daycare with their "bikes" as well.. She doesn't bother to pedal and basically squats and walks/runs the direction she wants to go. She doesn't sit back in the seat so her "form" is off(?) Some of her peers can ride well, and some do what she does.
I really would love for her to learn to ride a bike (eventually). She's now 3 and we haven't done a great job of practicing because she just kind of gives up/loses interest quickly..
Should I continue to offer/encourage the Strider, or get another bike altogether? The in-laws are offering to get her a ~$100 gift for Christmas so this would be my chance to get her a big ticket item, haha. Little bro will be getting a scooter (which she already has).
