Does your LO have one? When did they start using it? D works in the bike industry and really wants to get one for E for Easter. He'll be almost 21 months (I think?)

We received one as a hand me down from my SIL. Last summer, DS was around 2 yrs old (maybe a few months older) and he had a hard time coordinating his hands and legs. It took about 20 minutes to walk a short block. This year, I imagine he'll be a lot more coordinated so we'll see.
Its never too late to start and introduce him to it though! Could be something that also tuckers the little guy out

I'm curious about this too. I want to get LO a bike as her big gift for her 2nd birthday. Don't know if I should do a 4-1 or go straight to a balance bike. I was under the impression 2 might still be too young for a balance bike.

@locavore_mama: The one D's company sells I think says 18m+. He wanted to get it for him for Christmas, but I asked him to wait until Easter. ETA: Well I asked him to wait until summer/his birthday but we compromised to Easter.

Yep! B got one when he was 18 months. He has been walking with it since he got it.

@locavore_mama: @lovehoneybee: we got LO a balance bike as her big present for her 2nd bday in December. She likes it but so far she just walks it around the neighborhood. We have only gone out half a dozen times or less though, and she is cautious by nature. I think it is a good gift but it is definitely something that they may need to grow into.

LO is 19 months old and I could not imagine her using a balance bike in a few months... I think, for us, it'll be better as a Christmas gift (2 1/2) or 3rd birthday.
