We had to throw out some that got mold in them. So all she has right now are cups.

Cups, paint brushes, sponges, foam letters/shapes, hard plastic animals (make sure there are no holes)

Boats? This is a good time of year to get stuff cause pool toys are out.

No advice - Xander's have holes in them, but now I'm thinking I should sterilize them!

@T.H.O.U.: DH let her take a couple little people in the bath So we had to throw them out.
@Dandelion: I didn't think about pool toys, thanks!

I red something about hot glueing the holes shut so water can't get in and cause mold- maybe try that on some of the squinty ones? Lil b has a light up duck and loves holding the bubble stuck from the gymbourre bubbleS

@Adira: R had a little sugar cube toy that went with the tea set. It has holes and nothing was closed off and it still got mold.

E really loves foam letters/numbers, and a small plastic toy watering can.

@Smurfette: If you can find old school little people (the actual little ones) they don't have holes!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Now I'm worried about Xander's. His are all little animals that have a hole so they can squirt water. We always empty them after his bath, but I'm sure there's residual water left and maybe are getting moldy!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: I had to throw out 3 of those. They were ducks and I could see black through the yellow. I am just going to assume all bath toys have a short shelf life.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Smurfette: Oh man, the ducks are Xander's favorite! I'm going to inspect them tonight!!! I'm hoping since Xander only bathes 2x a week, maybe they won't be too bad.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Adira: if so, at least they are cheap you can buy new ones.

@Smurfette: What about these? They're phthalate-free PVC and have non-toxic paint:

We have what @lipgloss posted. E only likes the crabs....weirdo.
I've been putting the CA Baby bubble bath in her tubs and she likes to play with the bubbles more than her toys....
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@MsLipGloss: Where are those from? Super cute!
never mind I see the link now!

Foam letters/numbers are our favorite. I just threw away all her squirt toys because I think they were getting moldy. I did find that the temperature ducks (although they don't work for the purpose) don't' have a plug so they don't' get moldy! she has a couple of those. We also have some water books she likes to read.

Aw cute! I think she likes the crab b/c it's flat enough to shove in her mouth and chew on.

@blackbird: my LO currently loves to set all the toys along the ledge of the tub and then laugh hysterically while I push them off the ledge one at a time . . . *shrug*
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MsLipGloss: haha, we set ours on the ledge and Xander grabs them one by one and throws them violently into the tub while squealing with delight!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@Smurfette: I may or may not have just ordered all three . . . my LO needs new bath toys too!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@Adira: I do what I can to keep them dry, but I am not gonna get upset if one or two need to be tossed.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mslipgloss, how...simply evil, lol.
I just don't think mine is super into toys. She gets more of a kick out of the running water and crawling back and forth in the tub. And trying to eat the bubbles or slurp the water
You can always superglue the holes shut
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@blackbird: R really just likes to eat the toys and drink the water. But I want her to have toys if she wants them.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Ugh, I just looked up the set Xander has and there are a bunch of reviews about them getting moldy. Now I'm freaked out. Have to check all the toys when I get home tonight!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@blackbird: maybe she's a pirate at heart . . . ? *walk the plank ye bilge-sucking scallywags . . . aaaaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh!*

the only toys that have lasted the test of time are our stacking cups and boon foam animals.
dh bought him a little people set for the bath and i buy him bath crayons, we're slowly getting rid of everything else we have because of the mold issue. as far as supergluing the holes on the squeezable toys? AINTNOBODYGOTTIMEFORTHAT. at least i don't!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mrsjyw, what, superglue is the fastest fix out there, lol! Dries in seconds! Provided you don't accidentally glue your fingers together, too. I like the gel.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@blackbird: i guess it's not a timing issue more than i'm a klutz issue...i probably won't cover the entire hole..then would have to re-do, etc.
coconut / 8498 posts
We use plastic cups from our cabinet, leftover Easter eggs, and some foam letters and numbers. LO is happy.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mrsjyw, haha. I can see that I'm picturing superglue everywhere now. What a mess!
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@blackbird: haha yup! then i'd end up pitching them anyway for fear there was too much super glue exposed to LO!

We have bath crayons (crayola brand are best) and foam jungle animals from target.

@Adira: These duckies don't have holes in them and don't get moldy. E loves his rubber duckies too

@Smurfette: @MsLipGloss: those get mold too. We have the farm animal party and it was so gross when i cut one up. I ended up just chucking all of them!
