My 5 year old starts yelling for me as soon as I get into the bathroom - I'm usually 2 floors away so she can't hear me when I try to answer. I went to the bathroom 3 times (that I can remember) on Saturday and it happened EVERY SINGLE TIME. She just did it again. Sigh.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: No, it's not traumatic, there is no hint of worry in her voice. It's just, "Mom, Mom, Mom,", repeat about 50 times. I guess I'll have to keep her alerted to my whereabouts at all times so she'll stop.

My best friend sent me a picture the other day of her 2 year old's hand sticking underneath the bathroom door while she was trying to pee. Everytime she goes into the bathroom, the baby comes to find her and bangs on the door
It made me laugh because it reminded me of a cat sticking their paw underneath the door to play. And I only laugh because I know my time is coming...

Mine is 2.5, won't let me go alone, and likes to very officially hand me the toilet paper. And she makes me say 'thank you."

@blackbird: I always go with the door open because the second I step into the bathroom, there is always some kind of major crisis, like Chloe can't find Barbies shoe. It's become such a habit that even if she's not home, or she's asleep, I still pee with the door open. So now my husband will come in and talk to me, which irritates the ever loving shit out of me because hello! can I be alone for thirty seconds?
But rather than, you know, close and lock the door, I've trained Chloe to sing "do you want to build a snowman?" To daddy every time he uses the bathroom.

I love that you taught her to sing. that's pure evil genius right there.
@lizzywiz: I've totally had little kids do that to me before. The mom is always horrified but it's hilarious.

@blackbird: I don't blame you. My first PP poop was so horrendous. I was crying with an audience and finally I had to send my husband to the pharmacy with my toddler while out newborn hung out with me in the bathroom in the rock n play. Not my finest moment buuuut it's #realmomlife

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Yeah i don't know how many times I've had to try to go PP with a newborn on my lap going "wtf am i doing?! this is the worst thing ever!". Peaceful work poops are the best. Or, as we refer to it, "getting paid to poop"
