I feel this way. Even when I have been told that this shower will be different and fun, it never works out that way. They're always in the middle of the afternoon and make it hard to schedule around. Before TTC, I found them boring and always got a ton of questions about when we would have a baby. Now that we're TTC and it's taking longer than expected, I find a way to skip it so I don't end up crying.

I live to socialize & eat foo I didn't make so if it's a friend (super close or just someone I've known for years) I like it, but if it's just an aqauintance I find them mildly annoying.

I like them (food, socializing) but hate the games!

I love the baby stuff and eating cake but am not a big fan of games. I went to one where they didn't open any gifts and I thought that was a big letdown.

If it is for a close friend or family member I really like them. I would probably pass on going to one for someone I don't know that well.

Depends who it's for and who will be there! I wish showers were held in the evening and that booze could be involved. They're just kinda boring sometimes

I certainly don't mind them when they are for people I know and my friends are going. I just chit chat and eat snacks.... but if you don't like them why not just skip? I really don't think people will care! At most showers I have been to the honoree is too busy with everything going on to really miss one person

It depends who it is for and who else I know there. I don't care for the games usually, but if it's a good friend and we have mutual friends there, plus there is good food, I'm happy.

I tend not to like them. If it's for a close friend, then it's usually fine because I can talk to our other mutual friends and family. I had to get talked into mine.

I've only ever been to 2, and didn't have one myself. As long as they're co-ed, I just see them as any other get-together-hopefully with cake! My opinion would probably be different if I had to go to more of them, though. Or if anyone had asked me to sniff a nappy, haha!

I like them for close friends. I will decline if it's for Someone I don't know well. I don't mind 1 or 2 quick shower games.

If it's a first time mom I'm close to and there are no games, yes. Otherwise, no.

Baby shower games are terrible. Fortunately all my good friends hate them too, so the baby showers I've been to have generally involve chatting over cake and mimosas and opening presents, which is not a terrible way to spend an afternoon.
