My Lo started crawling kind of weird yesterday. Crawling with his hands and feet instead of on his knees. I looked it up. Turns out he is bear crawling!! My first never did it.
Did anyone else's LO bear crawl?
My LO is 12.5 months old right now.

DS at 8 months does not want to crawl, even though I know he could. Instead he loves getting up on his hands and feet...which I think is going to turn into a bear crawl. Glad to see someone else's LO is doing it, because I didn't really know what to make of it. I was like is he doing a downward dog pose?

DS did that sometimes. We have hardwood floors though so I know it was hard on his knees.

Ours only does what we affectionately call "the stanky leg". She scoots on one shin and keeps the other leg out to the side with her foot flat and propels herself forward with it. We have hardwood floors throughout; it is her only way to get anywhere!!

DD started pushing up on her hands and feet (just like downward dog) last night. I thought she was failing at trying to crawl but I guess she's just trying to bear crawl. Not even six months old and already beating to her own drummer.

Mine started doing it after he started walking. It's like he's just playing around but it looks hilarious!

T just started this and it's so weird! We figured out that he only did it when he had onesies on-I don't think he likes his knees to touch the floors.

My son did that before he started really crawling, and then started doing the bear crawl again just before he started walking. He still does it a little now, but just playing around - I think he likes being kind of upside down.

My LO did a crab-like type of crawl, but then I started noticing he was only doing that type of crawl on the hard wood floors, in the carpeted areas he would crawled correctly. I guess he wasn't comfortable on the floor.

My 2nd bear crawled, but that's because we moved to a house with all tile floors and it bruised her knees to do a regular crawl

Yup!/she just started at 11.5 months. It's her happy medium between "baby" crawling and walking
