So I had a funny morning. I had just gotten out of the shower and was naked, pregnant and dripping wet when someone started banging on our door. It was 6:30 and since my husband had left only a few minutes earlier I figured maybe it was him. So I took a chance, grabbed a towel ( which humiliatingly doesn't wrap fully around my pregnant belly at this point) scrambled by our 12 foot window which currently has no curtains and opened the door to see my frantic husband. Turns out the neighbors house was on fire. Like FIRE. And right next door. Talk about panic! He was on the phone with 911 and trying to warn me while also freaking out because the dad had apparently gone back inside. Thankfully just as my husband declared he was going in the burning house after the dad he came out. It took over ten excruciatingly long minutes for the FD to arrive. In the meantime I had thrown on sweats and a tank and run outside to check on the family. Before I knew it five fire trucks, three police cars, one ambulance and countless on call fire men's personal vehicles had blocked our entire street. I was not going to make it to work on time. Boo. I tried to busy myself finishing getting ready and packing lunch. When I noticed a break in the action I threw my work scrubs on and headed out the door. I work with a doctor and knew everything would be behind because of me so I got there as fast as I could. The universe loved me because despite everything I was only twenty minutes late to work. I rushed into work and was violently shoving my purse into my locker when I realized something was off....in the chest area....as in no bra. That's right ladies in my anxiety ridden rush to get out the door I had missed a crucial step I like to call "reigning in my DD girlfriends" Holy embarrassing. I have no clue how I was able to accomplish this one but spending the morning in a state of constant embarrassment while I tried to cover my ample chest with crossed arms and strategically placed patient charts was quite an adventure! I was finally able over lunch to escape and go by a new bra so my day is headed in a better direction but I just had to post so you guys can share in my laughter. God knows I was too embarrassed to tell my coworkers! Talk about a crazy start to the day!
