At almost 17 months, I think LO is sick of reading the same stories every night. Since she was an infant, we have been reading Night Night Little Pookie, Llama Llama Nighty Night, The Going to Bed Book, and Pajama Time. She hates them all now so we've been reading Pat the Bunny 5 or 6 times in a row!
What are some of your LO's favorite bedtime stories?

@autumnlove: We keep LO's bedtime stories on the wall next to the glider in her room but the rest of her books are in the living room. Maybe I should move some of her favorite books into her bedroom!

@betsyboop: no, we don't have chicago baby - will have to keep my eye open for it :). We also read just about anything he hands us at bed time - his books are spread all over the house

one of our favorites at that age was "where is the green sheep?" by mem fox. she also wrote "time for bed" and "ten little fingers and ten little toes" which are good, too.
we tend to read anything and everything at bedtime, but here are some other specifically bedtime-y titles we enjoy:
-good night, little bunny (yolen)
-couting kisses (katz)
-don't let the pigeon stay up late (willems)
-how do dinosaurs say goodnight (yolen)
-the sleepy little alphabet (sierra)
-the quiet book (underwood)

Thanks for all the suggestions! I went to b&n's website and bought based on the ratings there, and the books I got were not hits with my lo at all. Good night, Gorilla she actually ripped out of my hands and threw on the floor.

You should use the library. I check out about 10 or so books for the baby each week and we read them throughout the week. It saves a ton of money : )

I just let him pick 3 before we sit down -/ I used to have special ones I read but now he seems to like to choose. He's 17 months too - he likes Baby's belly button, I love you brought and through, and is obsessed with 5 little pumpkins right now!

We read a random one that my mom bought called "Love is a Handful of Honey". It's really cute. But, there are three tiny mice on each page that DH pointed out one night and now she's not into reading, she just wants to find the mice!
