@MrsMcD: @delight: Haha yes! They are so funny and adorable!

@Mrs. Microscope: It sounds like such a fun trip!

We are discussing taking a road-trip out east (Atlantic Canada) next spring/early summer, and depending on how things go I'll hopefully be pregnant at that point. I guess we will have to see how comfortable I am as far as driving and morning sickness and all of that fun stuff, but luckily it's a trip that we were planning on sort of "winging" anyway, so we can adjust our timing depending on how I'm feeling. Plus it helps that we will be in Canada the whole time, so don't have to worry much about health coverage if we needed something.

@PermaStudent: Do you, personally, own a pygmy goat?

  4. Synchronicity

    grapefruit / 4089 posts

@MrsMcD: No I wish. I had a friend growing up who had goats on her farm (although they weren't little pygmies), and they were hilarious!

Are the goats inside or outside pets? Are they litter box trained or something?

@Permastudent that's sounds like a fun road trip!

@Mrs. Microscope: Haha oh no, us waiting-to-TTCers are starting a tiny goat obsession! I honestly have no idea! I would assume that they could live in a little barn or something outside, but people keep pigs in their homes so I guess they probably keep goats in there too!

ETA: I'm laughing right now that I typed "little barn"... because tiny goats couldn't live in a regular sized barn?

@MrsSCB and @PermaStudent: thanks!! Our trip was seriously awesome! We went to Paris, Rome, Nice and Barcelona for 3 weeks. It was definitely a last hurrah trip of a lifetime!

@mrsmicroscope: I grew up near the finger lakes in New York and it is so beautiful. Delicious wine and worth the trip for sure!

@hoots: thank you for the welcome. I'm glad to join in!

    Welcome Peaches1038!

This morning I finally ended a hellish 39 day cycle (wtf?!) after 2 months of standard 28 day cycles post-iud removal. I have an appointment with my doctor next week just to make sure that this cycle was a one-off and that moving forward everything is okay. Only 2 cycles until official TTC!!

@Mrs. Microscope: I ended a 91 day cycle yesterday. I've never been this glad to see af. My doc finally had to induce with provera and I have bloodwork and an ultrasound next week. She thinks I most likely have lean pcos. Mine were normal for 7 months post bc until April. Good luck with the doc! Fingers crossed for you that it's just a wonky cycle.

  10. Synchronicity

    grapefruit / 4089 posts

@Hoots: mine was ok post-BC for about that long too, and then my cycles got long, like 55 days+. 90 days is insane, I'm sorry! I finally seem to be regulating again now and it's been more than a year since I stopped taking BC.

  11. Synchronicity

    grapefruit / 4089 posts

@Mrs. Microscope: it can take so long to regulate - it's been more than a year for me! I wish I had been more aware of that because I probably would have stopped taking it a couple of years ago. It really messed with my body.

@PermaStudent: I am seriously hoping that it's just me regulating. It's been a ridiculous few months. But holy AF, I hate Provera. I'm pretty sure I'm borderline anemic or about to be at this point. I stopped bc in September because I felt like the hormones were making me nuts. Huge difference after stopping mood-wise. Less anxiety and I'm able to sleep so much better. Now I wish I would have stopped years ago.

So I figured I'd say something here since I suppose we are no longer waiting and have moved to actively trying much sooner than I had expected. After my last OB/GYN visit, the doc diagnosed me with PCOS. Long story short, we need to be actively trying for 6 months to get the referral to the RE in her practice, which means if we start now the referral will be set for January/February-ish. So off we go. Neither DH or I expect much, but who knows. Wishing you all fun things during your wait!

When will you be TTC? We are planning to start TTC June 2015 soon after our 3rd Anniversary.

What is your reason for waiting? We are doing 2 big PreTTC trips this year, to Europe in November (London/Paris/Barcelona) and a trip to Asia in December (Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam). We wanted a couple of months after the trips to put our savings account back into shape after the traveling.

How are you keeping busy in the meantime? I'm consumed with planning our trips right now and working on our household budget so that we don't go bankrupt with our travels.

Share something about yourself! We've been together for 7 years, got married at 22. We are both on the young-ish end for parenting (both 25) but we've had baby fever ever since the wedding. For the past 2 years we've been working together to check stuff off our life to do list so that we are ready for babies soon. We always talked about having kids sooner rather than later but we also wanted to do other stuff like Buy a House and Travel. Since we've always had a timeline for having kids, we really prioritized our time and money, which has helped us accomplish all the things we set out to do.

    When will you be TTC?
We are thinking next summer (2015).

What is your reason for waiting?
I am working on finishing grad school then we would like to build up our savings again. DH isn't ready yet either so it's putting a damper on my baby enthusiasm.

How are you keeping busy in the meantime?
Grad school and beginning work again! I am a teacher so I'll go back to work soon. Hopefully that will be pretty distracting.

I think it's hilarious you are all talking about pygmy goats. My husband wants one desperately and he thinks they're adorable. They're ok I guess but we live in the suburbs! Where are you going to put a goat?! He grew up on a farm though and we want to eventually move back out to the country so maybe then. Right now our jobs are preventing us from doing that.

    I will join!

    When will you be TTC?

We will likely be trying in September hopefully while we are on our Europe trip! (London, Switzerland, Paris, Italy, Germany,Netherlands).

What is your reason for waiting?

We unfortunately had a m/c in December (first month of NTNP). I then got a salary job that has a mat leave (I was FL before). My probation will be up in September (which also lines up with our Europe trip). If I get pregnant right away (hah!) I will miss out on the 22month 85% top up - but I am not too concerned about waiting for that. I will still get my 1 year paid mat leave.

How are you keeping busy in the meantime?

Like I said, we are planing our Europe trip! I am so excited. I was really indecisive over pulling the trigger but I knew we wouldn't do it for a while after having a baby so it will be our last "hurrah" for a while.

    Share something about yourself!

Eep. I already feel like I shared so much. I am 29 and DH is 34. We have 2 furbabies and have been together for about 9 years (married for 1.5)

@Reese: That sounds like a dream trip! Any of those places would be the perfect place to conceive

@peaches1038: just over 2 weeks! I keep telling DH we will sleep when we come back LOL. We would go longer but as I mentioned I just got this job at the beginning of the year and don't have *that* much vacation time saved up yet (9 month probation!)

@PermaStudent: eiiiii!! I know!!! You ladies will be the first to know I was so happy to see this thread and meet others in the same boat. Sometimes I feel a little silly on this site with nothing to contribute. On the other hand, I learn SO much from the other bees and I LURVE the community... but most of the threads I feel like I need to add the "no LO's yet but..." caveat.

@PermaStudent: Cool! I have never gone to any of the meet ups because I feel like I would be the weird childless one fawning all over other people's babies.

    OK I'm joining

When will you be TTC? probably in October.

What is your reason for waiting? We are refinancing our house and paying off bills.

How are you keeping busy in the meantime? looking up baby names lol

Share something about yourself! I'm 31 and work in the construction industry. My husband and I have been together for 11 years, married for just under 2. We have two corgi puppies that are 8 months old. I've had baby fever for about 3 years now, so, the fact that we have a timeline now is SO EXCITING and I had to tell SOMEONE. lol
