We like the Vtech ones - long range, pretty clear, no issues with them.

I love our AngelCare monitor - the best feature is that it has a 2 min mute on it, which is amazing for those nights when they are fussing but will go back to sleep on their own.

it doesn't look as nice and doesn't have the capability to let you talk into the monitor, but we didn't feel like we needed the latter so just got the very basic one.

Reading these reviews helped us choose. We have the #1 Phillips Avent one. Looks like they really liked the VTech one though too and it's much cheaper.
