I don't know! DH made some good Boston Butt last Sat.

Texas here too. There is some amazing BBQ where I live!

A local restaurant called Sconyer's in Augusta, Georgia. I miss that place! Texas BBQ just isn't the same.

Granted I haven't been many places in the South yet. But I think my DH makes the best smoked BBQ. Others who have lived in the South tells him the same!

@chopsuey: p.s. I hope he's bringing some back for you! DH is driving to Kentucky next week to pick up his nieces. His goal is to stop at BBQ joints and I told him he better bring a cooler bag and bring me home takeout. hehe

This will sound weird to all you Southerners, but BT Smokehouse in Sturbridge, MA is delicious and and will give you all a run for your money

@chopsuey: have you been to Smokin' Pig in Valdosta? DH ate there before his flight home last time and he said it was really good!

I've had lots of BBQ but my favorite is two hole-in-the-wall places. For ribs, it's hands down Guy and Maes in this teeny town in Kansas. I've had ribs in practically every state I've been to and none compare to this place. The whole town is like 4 blocks. For brisket it was Fat Maggies in Lakeland, FL. Holy banana sandwich it was AMAZING.

I love bbq. I mean borderline obsession.

Original Salt Lick in Driftwood, TX. BYOB, picnic tables, family style. Delicious.

@chopsuey: Cool! That was my guess since theyre so highly rated. Sadly the one time I've gone, they were sold out of the pulled pork and the brisket! It was a sad day...but I remember the sides being amazing anyhow!

Hutchin's BBQ in Texas. Used to be Randy White's.

Hard 8 is pretty good, but their steak - omg!!! It chomps any 5 star steak place. no joke. It's so juicy and huge (20oz) and it's only like $26???? HECK YEA MAN!!!
