We just inherited my parents' old bikes and bike rack because they bought new ones! I'm super excited to try going for a family bike ride, but first we need to figure out what kind of seats would be best for the kids. DD is 3.5 and DS is 16 months - any experience with biking and those ages?

We use a Hamax brand seat for my younger LO (almost 2.5). Depending on how heavy your older one is, you may not be able to use a bike seat. I think ours only goes up to 40lbs and my son was pretty close to 40lbs at 3.5.

Most people I know that bike with kids use a bike trailer for as long as the kids cannot bike themselves. They usually have a weight limit of around 100lbs.

we got a yepp maxi, which I love. I never loved the idea of a trailer.

We have a trailer. My kids are loving it. I don't know if my husband will be joining us bike riding that often and I wanted to be able to take both kids alone.

We have a bike trailer similar to @anonysquire: (they look super cute in there!). But we have only used it with our then two year old. I think it will be a tight squeeze with a 3 yo and 1 yo when the baby is big enough but in hoping they fit!

We don't have one, but the popular ones in my neighborhood are the Yepp models. I've seen set ups with an older child behind the parent, and a younger one on the handle bars or between the parents' legs. I don't think I'm that coordinated, haha, but I've seen the set up on many bikes, so it must be workable for one parent to ride two kids!
