We're taking DD (2 years old) to Disney next week and I wanted to get her a disney princess movie that will keep her occupied on the plane. I'm traveling with her alone and DH will meet with us the next day.
We already have Frozen and Rapunzel. She likes the singing. I was thinking about Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast

Little Mermaid for sure!
I think kids like Little Mermaid because of all the fish/animals. The Ursula scene at the end is pretty terrifying for little kids though...

Aladdin, Mulan, or Princess and the Frog.
Princess and the Frog is one of Cs favorites. She even has a Tiana doll. The music's great too

beauty & the beast was my all time fave (and still is!). i think it has a good message and that belle is a really strong disney princess!

My favorite is a tossup between Aladdin and beauty and the beast, but LO doesn't care for them. She only likes Tangled and Frozen.

@bunnylove08: I agree, Nemo is great for young ages because its a lot of colorful images.
little mermaid is great for the songs but there are some scary parts (boat on fire, crazy eyes of ursula, etc).
What about Lion King?!?!? Great songs and animal characters!

Too many of the movies are too scary for my kids, but they loved Frozen and Tangled so those are our current favorites. I'm hoping to introduce them to Beauty and the Beast and Princess and the Frog soon, for the music.

My LO really gets caught up in Alice in wonderland, I know that's not princess but it's an old school goody and my husband and I joke that she goes comatose while watching it:)

For non-princess musicals, what about The Jungle Book? My 3 yr old niece loves that one.

I love all of the Disney movies, but have a tough time with the messages some of them send. I try and dismiss them as just fun cartoons, but the fact that in The Little Mermaid, Ariel falls in love with the prince after simply seeing him for a few minutes and finding him attractive, and then she's supposed to use her "looks, her pretty face, and body language" to win the prince over...I don't love that.
Frozen on the other hand, does a much better job thinking about the messages it's sending little girls!
