My 11 month has his first cough (thanks to my nephew coughing all over him at Thanksgiving, ugh). 
We have dealt with a snotty nose and congestion before and did lots of saline and Nosefrieda, but wondering if there is anything extra I can do for his cough?
So far I do the steamy bathroom at night during his bathtime, Vicks plug-ins in his room at night and still doing NoseFrieda.

I do exactly the same. DS is 7 months and the doc said the cough is from nasal congestion dripping down his throat. Sucks when you can't do much!
I just saw some Zarbees at target for babies but didn't buy it. It said safe for babies. I wanted to look it up first.

A humidifier in the room will help! Dry cough is hard to get rid of

Hylands makes baby cough syrup and tiny cold tablets that saved us such misery when L got his first cold at 9 months. I think I found them at Walmart.

In the baby medicine aisle, there's a natural syrup called zarbees…it's suppose to be soothing to the throat and helps boost the immune system. Also, I would vicks your LO's feet and put socks on when he sleeps. Not completely sure if it works but I learned about it on hellobee and i thought it helped my son when he had a little cold

My kids have a cold with cough as well. I've been doing the Vicks on the feet in addition to the humidifier and NoseFrieda. It's just miserable hearing their little coughs over the monitor at night!

@Mamasig: @enjollah: I bought the Zarbee's and gave him a dose before bedtime. We'll see how it works! Thank you for the suggestion.
@blackbird: I've got that sucker filled up to the brim and on the highest setting to run all night.

Thanks everyone. It sucks to hear him cough, even though I remind myself it's more a product of the nasal dripping in his throat.

Do you have a humidifier? That helps. With a few drops of eucalyptus oil.

@winniebee: I do, but have never heard the eucalyptus oil trick. Would a local herb shop have some?
