I am booking flights to fly home to stay with my parents. Baby girl will be somewhere between 2 and 2.5 months old. I know every baby is different, but for the return flight, which time would you pick?
2:30pm, 6:30pm, or 9pm?

When we did car trips, we always traveled at sleeping times (either nap time or at night when she would go down). But that was because we knew she would be strapped in and we couldn't hold her so sleeping was easier. I don't know if I would want to disrupt sleep for a young baby with flying and if she was awake you could hold her.

2:30! You'll be home in time to still have bathtime/bedtime/etc on schedule. At that age there is no reliable "nap time" so that doesn't really factor in. We flew when LO was just shy of 3 months old, I nursed her on take off and she slept on the boppy on my lap for the whole flight like a perfect angel. Both of our flights were mid day which was ideal. We didn't have to rush to get to the airport in the morning, but we were still at our destination early enough not to mess with bed time routine.

At that age, I think whatever is convenient for you is fine. LO was still SUPER flexible then so bed/bath/nap routines didn't really matter much.

DS was totally flexible at that age - any of those times would have worked for him. If I were choosing, I'd do 2:30pm - I feel like there's less of a chance of delays on earlier flights.

I would go with the 2:30 flight. At that age, I don't think the time matters for the baby as much as it does for you! I'm not a night owl so those late flights would kill me with a baby in tow.

I flew to Boston when LO was 10 weeks old. The early morning flight there was perfect b/c he slept the whole way. The way home we took a 7pm flight which unfortunately didn't work nearly as well. He screamed bloody murder up until about 30 sec before we boarded the plane. The only thing that got him to stop was a tight swaddle and thank GOD he fell asleep. I would stick to morning/afternoon flights b/c some babies are prone to the 'witching hour' meltdowns. My certainly was! Good luck!

I'd do 2:30. 6:30 is prime witching hour for a baby that age, and 9 pm is on the late side.

230. LO is only two weeks but she is so much fussier anytime between 6 and 10 every night.

i'm no expert (my LO in only 9 weeks old), but i would vote for 2.30 as well. gives you enough time to adjust naps before bedtime rolls around. best not to mess with bedtime!

Another vote for 2:30 here! Like others, I've never liked messing with bedtime!
