I need a pair of heels to wear that match with pretty much everything. I'm thinking a pair of black heels? I definitely don't have the best fashion sense, so any and all suggestions are welcomed! Something simple but tried and true!
I normally never wear heels, so I would have to say 2-3 inches would be perfect!
Any recommendations ??

either black or nude pumps. if you can only get one, i would get a pointy toe black pump. you can wear it to work, dress it down with jeans, dress it up with a dress.... very versatile!
and you'd be surprised how versatile nude is too!

@MrsBrewer: it's a classic for sure. they make your legs look longer! but black is easier for most people to wear just because they're used to it, so i would go with black if you're just getting one.

If you only get one, I would go with black but I also love nude. I've been trying to find the perfect nude pair for a while, but I haven't found one.

@MrsBrewer: I was wondering the same thing when I first started seeing so many in fashion magazines - especially patent leather - but when it's a nude leather or suede I think it's such a classic neutral shoe.

I just bought these in the nude color for a wedding I am going to:
I kid you not, I have never worn a more comfy pair of shoes. They are super cute in person, too. But the inside is super padded, and they are not too tall. And not terribly expensive, either.
Like you, I am not really a heels person, but these ones I see myself wearing for a long time!!

I agree with Mrs. Bee on the black pointy toe heels. They're practically my go to shoes for everything!

I think black is the most versatile! Nine West makes really comfortable, not too tall heels--I have their pointy pumps in a bunch of different colors and would recommend them as a good basic shoe. I prefer peep toes to go with dressier dresses, like what I wear to weddings/banquets.

I'd take a survey of what you'd be wearing them with - if most of your bottoms are black & grey I'd go with a black pair but if you have lots of browns I'd go with a blush pair (hate saying nude because everyone's skin color is different 
). I really like Jessica Simpson heels even though I'm not her biggest fan. I've had good luck finding them at Marshalls/TJ Maxx. Nine West is another brand that has some lower heels that are well made and comfy. I'd avoid suede (high maintenance) and patent (trendier) if you're looking for something low maintenance to wear for a long time!

I go with black wedge mary janes because i need the strap so they don't slip off my feet.

Thanks everyone. I normally wear stuff in the black/gray tones, rarely brown. So I think black would be my best option!
