We made wine and gave everyone a small bottle of it, with a note that it will be ready to drink on our anniversary. People loved it, but most didn't open it on the "right" day For kids, we bottled M&Ms. I agree, I hate extra knick knacks that people don't need.

We gave out pint glasses that said "eat, drink and be married" on them. I see them in rotation at a lot of friend's and family's houses. Really they were a kill two birds with one stone thing for us. We spent just as much on them as we would have to rent the glassware at our venue, so people just filled up their pint glass with whatever they were drinking and then took the glass home at the end of the night.

For our wedding we did airplane size bottles of vodka (we also had a vodka bar). I loved at my shower they did a "custom" spice rub, like the poem sugar, spice and everything nice...it was so cute!

We had a dessert buffet with 20+ different pies, torts, cakes, etc. It was a huge hit and I never got a bite of anything it went so fast!
My favorite favor, though, was from my friends wedding. They got married the week after xmas and gave out ornaments!

We made homemade vanilla extract. It seemed to go over well because most people need a bottle of it in their pantry.

I feel like this is going to sound incredibly tacky, but it was a lot of fun! At my wedding we had scratch off lotto tickets at very seat. We decorated them prettily so they looked nice. There were several that won $5 - $20, and someone that won $100. Granted, not everyone won something, but I'd rather have a chance at $100 than a trinket.
My favorite is a mason jar with etched hearts on it. I use it for canning and drinking and as a vase.

Wow! These are some really cool favors! I haven't been to many with edible favors except those pastel almond things.
We did a candy bar too - I totally didn't even think about that!

I love edible favors! I designed and ordered personalized ice cream scoops for my brother's wedding and they were SUCH A HIT. Everyone raved about them and both sets of parents begged me to order more to give out to their friends that didn't go to the wedding. I couldn't order smaller orders without the price going through the roof though.
For our wedding I so wished we had repeated the ice cream scoop thing, but instead we did personalized mugs. We also ordered chocolate pitch pipes because we met singing acappella. Everyone loved the mugs and still talks about how they use it all the time. And the pitch pipes were so awesome, but the company we ordered from has since gone out of business
