@jaguar: I understand. It seems like everyone in my real life/Facebook moms group is pregnant, and my birth month group on here too.

I'm so frustrated because in looking at the calendar I realized that we are not going to be able to start my IUI next cycle either. The first half of my cycle falls when we will be away for the holidays. We may try on our own this cycle since we have nothing to lose. But I am terrified of another CP. I'm concerned that the suspected polyp in my uterus might be at fault. If so couldn't it cause it again?

@NurseDMB: I hope your power is back on!

@jaguar: Thinking of you! I think abandoning FB is a really good idea! Good luck with your Femara cycle!

@travellingbee: Are you planning on a hysteroscopy before starting your IUI cycle? FX for you!

  3. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Yes. That was planned but them I had a CP and they said I had to wait until my next cycle. But then we'll be away during the first week of my next cycle....so I guess it'll have to wait until January unless we get pregnant before that. Do you think we should still try before then??

  4. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@travellingbee: Personally (and based on my own experience so far), I'm a better-safe-than-sorry kind of gal, so would probably wait! As far as I understand, all kinds of different minor uterine irregularities (polyps, adhesions, fibroids) can make getting/staying pregnant more difficult...and it would be awful to go through this again, if there's a suspicion that there is a "fix" available. FX that you can get in quickly and have your sticky LO very soon!!!

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@FliegepilzHut: that's how felt when it would have pushed back our timeline but now that it wouldn't change anything I'm not sure. Many people do get pregnant with polyps and carry to term.... I just am not sure. Sitting around waiting for 2 cycles sounds worse...

  6. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@travellingbee: I understand. Waiting really does suck. What do you mean "it wouldn't change anything"??

  7. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Well originally I had to just wait this one cycle because of the CP. So I said to my DH, let's just sit this out because if we had another CP we'd have to put off IUI and the hysteroscopy yet another cycle. It wasn't worth the risk to me. But since (because of holiday travel timing) we can't start the IUI stuff next cycle anyway, even if we did have another CP it wouldn't matter. We still wouldn't be able to start until late January. So the only risk would be disappointment from having another CP. Although it seems unlikely we would get pregnant again right away since I have DOR to begin with, which is why we are doing IF treatment...

  8. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@travellingbee: I see. That's a very hard call. Will you plan to do the hysteroscopy and IUI the same cycle?

  9. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

    @FliegepilzHut: That's the plan, yes.

  10. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@travellingbee: I don't know a lot about polyps, but I guess it could potentially cause issues? But then, so could a LOT of things, so I suppose it depends what you're comfy with.

I can't even look at monthly due date boards here. It was bad enough having to leave the March one when we lost bub, but having to leave July too, and watch everyone else almost at their 12 week marks.... that should have been me too. So yeah, I'm not really doing too well.

@FliegepilzHut: I hate having to do it, but all it's doing is making me feel bad, and probably making others feel uncomfortable.

Had a big meltdown yesterday because I wanted to go away on a holiday with hubby & DD around our big due date (March 4th) but then realising that we can't, because my SIL is due around that time too. So now, not only do we not get to go away.... I have to get prepared to deal with the baby stuff in my face. I just don't know how to prepare for this!

@Hilsy85: So I'm not the only one lurking on the POAS boards? I think I'm just trying to live vicariously and forget the fact that we're waiting, again, not able to TTC. Reading the posts and seeing the pictures doesn't bother me at first, but after about 10 minutes I get frustrated and close the window.

@Jaguar: The 12 week mark for me would have been this past Friday, my husband's birthday. We had been planning to tie the announcement into Thanksgiving and his birthday, so..... yeah. I hear you on those anniversaries hurting How close are you with your SIL? Do you really have to stick around or could it be one of those gray areas where you and DH go away, and SIL understands? Does she know it was your EDD?

@jaguar: Yeah, the due date boards are the worst for me right now. I think that if I get another BFP, I'll wait a while before joining the board. Taking yourself off the due date board really sucks.

The FIRST thing I did when I got gold was hide all the due date and POAS threads. I just couldn't take it anymore.

So, I ended up Oing even later this month (CD 19 instead of 17...and it used to be 14!) so our timing wasn't off as much as I'd thought. We ended up hitting O and O-2. So I'm somewhat hopeful this month and am really hoping I won't be let down yet again. And I've been symptom spotting something fierce, but trying to remind myself the progesterone can cause sore boobs and what not as well.

@jaguar: I peeked into the April due date board and it really bummed me out. They are all about half way through and I'm bitter I'm not at the same point. Having your SIL due around then is really hard I'm sure. My SIL is due in a few days and even that is hard to deal with right now. Hugs to you

@MaryM: Fingers crossed for a BFP this month!

@DesertDreams88: I go to the POAS boards a lot. Sucker for punishment. Yeah, SIL knows we were due at the same time (I lost bub at 11 weeks, so we'd gone through the whole first trimester together) and she would be hurt, I think. She gets it, but I still think they'd want us around. We're looking at maybe the month before, but it'll be hard with hubby's work.

@BlueWolverine: It really does. I STARTED the March one, which was just awful having to leave it. And I was trying to be all 'think positive!' when I got pregnant again and joined the July boards... and yeah, no. Not cool.

@MaryM: Yeah, I really should consider hiding them. Not a bad idea. Good luck for your TWW. Will you pee on a stick? x

@HappyBluebird: Yeah, it's really hard. Christmas is hard too. I would have been third trimester from M/C #1 and hitting 12 weeks from M/C #2. No happy milestones for us now.

@jaguar: I probably will this weekend (I'll be 10 dpo saturday). I have 0 patience. And the holiday parties start this weekend so there will be plenty of drinking if it's negative.

I conceived last december, so I think I'm holding on to the hope that maybe the timing will be good for us again this year? It's less stressful (I get a ton of time off work) and DH and I generally get to see each other more since classes end soon. Who knows.

Found out yesterday that my hcg is back to 1... So, yay I guess?

Luckily I only had heavy bleeding and cramping for a day, then it tapered off to spotting for a couple days.

How long were you ladies told to wait to TTC? My OB didn't say anything but I also didn't really ask over the phone. I at least plan on waiting until my period comes back, I think.

@jaguar: I'm sorry you're not doing well. It sounds like a FB break would be highly beneficial. I had to basically stop looking at FB all together, because clearly once I had a mc, every single person I know got pregnant or had a baby at that moment. It literally felt like ALLLLL of them.

@MaryM: AHH! FX for you! That's so exciting - good luck!

@NurseDMB: That's great news that it's basically over! Well, you know what I mean. I was told to wait one cycle (and that it was basically for dating purposes).

  20. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@NurseDMB: that's great that you've gotten to negative (the only time it's ok to say that!) I don't have personal advice about Dr suggestions on waiting but it seems most of the ladies here were told to wait one cycle.

  21. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@NurseDMB: I was told only that we couldn't do the IUI cycle but nothing about trying on our own. I'm afraid to ask and be told no so I'm just not going to ask

  22. hilsy85

    squash / 13764 posts

@NurseDMB: that is good news! I was told that I could start TTC as soon as I felt ready, and that it MIGHT be a good idea to wait til I got my period, but that there is no medical evidence that getting pregnant before getting first period leads to a higher rate of miscarriage. SO we didn't wait, and now i'm in my TWW...not holding out much hope of course, but it feels good to be doing something instead of more waiting.

@travellingbee: I didn't even see my doc; she just looked at my numbers and told the nurse to tell me to wait a cycle. I think it's just her general advice and wasn't specific to my situation. I don't know why, but for some reason because it's not specific to me, it makes me more comfortable with completely ignoring her advice, which I'm currently doing. Of course, if I magically get pregnant this month, I'm going to have to figure out how to explain that to her.... I do generally love her.

  25. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@BlueWolverine: Yeah, I didn't see my doctor either. I feel the same way... if I do get pregnant, I will have some explaining to do.... A friend of mine has had 3 miscarriages (and 3, going on 4 full term pregnancies) and every time they told her to wait at least a cycle in between and she never has and always got pregnant right after. And her miscarriages weren't nearly this early! I'm sure her doctor tells her, knowing full-well that she won't. I go back for a final blood draw today to make sure it is down to 0. I was at 4.9 last Tuesday. I'm certain it is, since I bled for 3 days and then spotted for 2 more and now am done. I ordered some OPKs.

I know there are other gift exchanges going on, but I wondered if y'all would want to do another one just for our group? We did one in the fall and I thought it was a fun way to get to know each other better.

Our gifts centered on either things to help you pamper/be kind to yourself, remembrance gifts, or things that in general would make you happy. I think we had a $20 limit?

If a handful or so people are interested, I'd be willing to set it up again. It was so fun and touching to receive the gits last time. And so nice to have something to look forward to!

Thanks ladies, I'll probably wait until after my period comes back. I have longer/irregular cycles so who knows when it will show up.

I stopped spotting on Thursday, and on Monday my hcg was 1.. Shouldn't it be back to 0 by then? Or is anything less than 5 still considered negative?

  29. NurseDMB

@hilsy85: Oooh, TWW, how exciting! I hope you get a BFP. I know what you mean about feeling productive, the waiting part sucks.

@NurseDMB: For my lab, anything less than 5 is considered negative but I think it varies by lab.

  31. travellingbee

    hostess / papaya / 10219 posts

@HappyBluebird: @NurseDMB: I was at 4.9 at my last lab and they said that was negative but still wanted me to come back for another blood draw to make sure it went down to 0. I don't know why...

  32. MaryM

    pomelo / 5129 posts

@NurseDMB: It can take a while for it to reach 0 once you get down to the smaller numbers. But I think anything under 10 is considered "negative" (whatever that means). Hopefully your cycles will return soon!

It's weird how the most random things can be such powerful reminders. I went to our work kitchen to make lunch and was stopped in my tracks by lemon zinger tea. We've only ordered it a few times the last two winters, and it's what I lived off of when I quit coffee when I was KU. Who knew a k-cup could be so emotional?? lol

  33. HappyBluebird

    clementine / 957 posts

@travellingbee: Maybe its just the drs office preference. Or maybe because they are checking my levels for a slightly different reason that is why less than 5 is negative, I'm not sure. The last 3 blood draws I had were 5, 3, & 3. I don't go back again until Mid December to have my next level check so I guess we'll see then if I ever get to an actual 0

@MaryM: Mine is white rice, it's the weirdest thing! I was obsessed with it when I was pregnant so now the rice aisle in the grocery store is dangerous if I'm in a funk!

Oh, ok. Maybe it just depends on the lab and doctors office. When they called me to tell me it was down to 1, they said that I didn't need to have anymore labs.
