Yay congrats!

We told our families right away, but didn't tell anyone else until after my 12 week apt. I'm glad I did that because I did miscarry for my first pregnancy, and I really didn't want to talk about it with anyone until I felt read, which took a couple of months.

we didn't tell anyone, including close family {moms, etc} til I was about 11 weeks along. I have a bleeding disorder, though, & have a higher risk of miscarriages & knew that I didn't want to have to go bad & tell anyone if anything happened & the husband honoured my wishes about that.

when we did tell family, we had to break it down some since they're scattered:
his mom & gma/my family, separately, we told during prayers
his dad & sister we told we had some photos made & we thought they might want a copy & gave them pics of baby's 1st sono, which was at 12 weeks so baby was really clearly defined as a little person
and his brother & sil, we skyped with

DH - right away
5 weeks - in-laws and my parents (and brother), and aunt
6 weeks - my maternal grandparents
8 weeks - best friends
9 weeks - my paternal family
10 weeks - first ultrasound, then anything goes!

We agreed to tell people on a need to know basis. For instance, my closest girlfriend & I always do boozy brunches so she knew something was up when I wasn't drinking.

Other than that, we're waiting until 14 weeks after all the genetic testing is done to tell our families & close friends. I'm prone to miscarriages and if the tests come back with a bad outcome I really don't want the judgement from others if we decide to terminate the pregnancy because of a severe abnormality.

I probably won't announce it on facebook until the baby is born, mainly because I find it really annoying when people constantly post pregnancy updates. You never know what fertility issues your friends are privately going through and it just feels a little insensitive. But that's just my opinion.

We told our immediate families and a few close friends right away. I had had a prior miscarriage and knew that I would want their support in case it happened again. I waited and told other friends and work after 12 weeks and didn't put anything on Facebook until after my anatomy scan (19 weeks). There's no right answer, though : )

My parents figured it out at 5 weeks. We told the inlaws around 9 weeks which was after our 8 week appointment. We just had our 13 week appointments where we saw the heartbeat again and baby measured well. We've only recently started telling friends. At first, I was so gung ho for a facebook announcement at 12 weeks. Now, I'm thinking more 20-21 weeks when we know the sex. I'm super cautious by nature and also pretty private as well on FB.

Congratulations! We waited until I was 10 weeks to tell our families (it happened to be Christmas, so it was a nice time), and we didn't tell anyone else until I was 13 weeks.

We told our parents a few days after our BFP, just shy of 5 weeks. Oh and also our siblings. No one else knows yet, we're going to re-evaluate after our first ultrasound at 7.5 weeks!

We got our BFP at about four weeks and are now at eight. We told our parents and DH's sister at about five weeks, a couple of really good friends at six weeks (we have boozy bbq's together) and I've told a couple of girlfriends as I've seen them over the last two weeks (both are pregnant themselves).

I'm about to tell my boss at the end of this week as I've got my first midwife appointment coming up as well as some blood tests and some scans so I figure he probably needs to know why I need the time off.

I'm not too worried about telling people before fourteen weeks as long as I can do it on my terms and if other people don't go announcing it for me!

We couldn't stand the wait but decided to wait anyway. My mother and friends got to know at around 10 weeks only because we were planning to visit them (an international flight away) and I didn't want anyone expecting us to be social butterflies during the trip.

We waited until after our NT scan results to tell DH family at 13weeks + 3 days (which was literally the day after we arrived back home).

We went FB official after the anatomy scan at 19 weeks + 3 days. I didn't plan to wait that long, but I figured I might as well. It's our first baby and we're taking the cautious route.

Congrats!! I only got my BFP on Friday after a year of TTC and a failed IUI. I immediately called my sister and 2 best friends. I also told a coworker who was aware of my struggles and has supported me throughout this. We're telling our parents and siblings this weekend when we see them in person. They are aware of the trying process and how difficult and frustrating it was for us, so we're super excited to tell them.

After my husband, I told his sister the next day. She knew that we had been trying for quite some time and had been a big support for me. I told my work after the first doctor's appointment the next week- I work with hazardous materials, so there were some things I could not do at that point.

At 7 weeks we told our parents, they all just happened to be in town right after Mother's Day weekend, so it was perfect timing. It was so hard not to spill the beans for 2 whole weeks.

At 10 weeks just after our first ultrasound we told the grandparents, rest of the family, then Facebook. We were confident after seeing the heartbeat on the ultrasound that the risk of miscarriage had gone down enough.
