My husband and I are downstairs, our 8 week old daughter is upstairs in her crib. It's the first time we have been on a different floor than her. It's the first time we have used the monitor. It's the first time we have enjoyed time together without her in the room. I want to go check on her every two minutes but I'm not going to... I think I have attachment issues.

@krsmall: when she wakes up, she is coming back to her bassinet in our room. I don't think I could handle having her sleep in the other room yet.

Hurray!!!! Welcome to the beginning of time together again
We had a big step today too... my parents went to church and out to dinner with friends, so we took the opportunity to go to Babies R Us and out to IHOP for dinner as a family of 4 for the very first time ever!!! AHHH!!!

that's so great.I wasn't ready for him to be out of our room at 8 weeks either. He was 3.5 months when we transitioned him to his crib.

Awesome! I remember the first night that we put DD down in her crib for an early bedtime, and DH and I were finally able to regain some us time for ourselves without juggling a baby between us. It was such a game changer. Enjoy!

@mediagirl: yes!! I specifically chose IHOP because I knew there would be very few people there, while the restaurant is nice and big. I even nursed Lil miss wagon in the booth

We switched C to her crib at 3 weeks. She was already sleeping 6-7 hours at a time, so it seemed the best idea. DH and I love having several hours of time to ourselves after she goes to bed.
hahah. We started using our monitor right away. It's so nice having some time to yourself!
