What baby item gave you your worse case of buyer's remorse?

Luckily we didn't buy too many big baby items.
I kinda regret getting the Bob since I got pregnant right away and don't really feel like running with the baby now. should have gotten a double I did take it on a few walks though.. and I suppose I can use it to run/lose weight once baby #2 arrives.

@chopsuey119: does the bob have an extension thing that you can add on to make it a double?
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@mediagirl: I don't think so..? We're probably going to get a phil & ted's double or another one of those slimmer doubles. Maybe. Maybe not. I want as little baby gear as possible! Might just put #2 in the Ergo and stroll LO around if we have to.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@chopsuey119: I think that's what @mrs. bee says she does. I bet it would work out great to carry one and push the other!

Pack n play! It was only good as a diaper changing station for a few months.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@mediagirl: Yeah. I figure by the time #2 is too big for the ergo (we still put LO in it) LO won't need to be in a stroller for long.
We don't go out much anyway.
I'm really looking forward to the day that I can sell/give away all my baby gear!

hmmm.... i think we should have bought charlie a regular bed. we wasted money on a second crib and the conversion kit for his crib.

@chopsuey119: I'm looking forward to selling baby stuff and we haven't even started using it yet... Ha ha ha.

This is kind of silly but...our house! We bought a house for our little family to expand in but we need more bedrooms now with baby #2 coming.
But as far as real baby gear? The toddler bed was sort of a waste, we could have bought a full bed. Also, we didn't need a full graco travel system. I take the bob stroller everywhere and the graco stroller was maybe used 4 times?

The Ergo was so useful for the first few months, but I don' think I'll be using it much now that he is a year old. My LO hates being restricted and loves to walk around. I could barely get him to sit still in the stroller today.
Maybe the Pack n' Play too... useful for the first 2 weeks and haven't been used since.

@twodoghouse: well baby is sleeping and I'm just bored in my room. So why not join the party
persimmon / 1134 posts
The pack & play or diaper genie. We planned on using the pack & play in our room after she outgrew the bassinet, but she wouldn't sleep in it for whatever reason. And the diaper genie is nice, but I realize now that it doesn't really do anything that a trashcan with a lid couldn't do. And the refills are so expensive!

This thread makes me happy that I'm getting so many hand me downs so if baby doesn't like something at least I didn't waste money on it! : )

Hey, if anyone wants to sell their Ergo to me... LOL let me know. I really don't want to lay out the cash for a brand new one.

I bought a stupid cosleeper for $60 and DS hated it. I recently saw that it sells for around $40 now. Makes me so mad!

The pack and play. And the furniture we got, I kind of wish I didn't get such a matchy set.
cantaloupe / 6687 posts
Pack and play...barely used it as a changing station early on, but now sits unused...maybe when she gets older we'll have her sleep in it when we go out of town or something...

Pack n play. Used it only a few times. I'm hoping we'll use it more with baby #2.
clementine / 889 posts
I'm surprised to see the pack n play is such an unused item. We use ours all the time. Since it got nice, we've even been setting it up outside so DS can play while we do lawn work and garden.
For us it was our travel system. I ended up with a baby jogger summit jogging stroller, but our infant seat wasn't compatible. We should have skipped the travel system and gone with a snugride seat and gotten the adapter for the jogger. We havent touched the other stroller in months.

I wish we'd chosen different furniture. It's not that we don't use it but I was so tired of registering (and DH & I have opposite taste) that the set we chose is... not that great. I hate the color of the wood - it's basically orange.

We were gifted a really nice obermeyer snowsuit for DD that she only wore once, & really only because we decided to try it on her. She wasn't big enough to play too much in the snow, & it was too big to be used with a car seat or when our & about.

I'm seeing a lot of pack and plays, maybe we should skip that? I was going to register for it. Does anyone have any positive arguement for it?

@jessiejo17: artbee loves hers
we bought one, set it up, timed the take down and decided it wasn't for us, so we returned it, several other threads on here about pack n plays show it's really hit or miss--those who love theirs LOVE them. depends on your LO, too
blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts
@jessiejo17: I think it depends on how you'll use it. If you travel frequently and want to use it as a travel crib, I definitely do NOT recommend because it is heavy/bulky/cumbersome. If you want it as a second crib/diaper changer somewhere in the house, it might be worth it -- IF your kid is willing to sleep in it. Mine never did. If he napped downstairs, it was in his swing or rock n play.

@JessieJ - I just ordered the GoCrib vs. pack and play. They have on Zulilly through today for $184, regularly $250. Reviews on amazon seem to be majority good. It folds into a back pack for easy travel (if thats a concern).
Disclaimer - I am only 20 weeks, so no experience w/ it yet. I may be back to say this was a waste.. but hopefully we love it!

The crib, and the pack n play. Although both were gifts, we never used either one. LO would only sleep on me or next to me. Now that he's 2, he finally sleeps a few hours alone.

Baby bjorn. It's not that it was bad, it's just that I can't baby wear because of my migraines, the weight on my shoulders kills me.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
Bumbo but we bought it used so we were only out like $18.

Bouncer chair, she was never interested!
@Mrs. Jacks: I'm always floored to hear that kids don't like their swing.... Our LO LIVES in her swings. We bought a second hand travel swing just so we never ave to go without
@jessiejo17: We use our pack n play a lot. We have 2 dogs so it's a safe place for her to play in the living room or out in the yard. She's up off the floor but safely contained
blogger / pineapple / 12381 posts
@prettylizy: I wonder if it's swing vs babywearing, since we wear our kids so much?
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
Hmmm, the diapers I didn't end up using since I don't have time to deal with Craigslist now. And I wish I registered for a Gemini instead of an Ergo. At 5m he still can't see over the straps! We've returned everything we didn't/haven't used and I now buy everything on Craigslist.

No regrets here, we bought a lot used so even the things we don't use much (Baby Bjorn) were worth the $12 I spent!
@mrstilly: I agree! We use our all the time.
@jessiejo17: We use our "pack and play" knockoff daily- we keep it in the bedroom and he slept in it at night his first month. I use it for naps, to set him somewhere safe outside while I work in the yard, and as a playpen. He gets bored easily, so it is nice to have an additional safe place to put him and keep him entertained with toys. We also take it with us when we travel. Later on I want to put those ball-pit balls in it!
This is the one we got, not too big, not too expensive:
