My son is turning 6 this summer. Last year we had the party at home, and it was very casual. We rented a bounce house in the backyard and ended up setting up a sprinkler because it was a million degrees out. Inside, I set out watercolor paints and paper on a table as an inside activity. It went super well and there was plenty to entertain the kids. But last year I knew all the kids pretty well and almost none of them were especially rambunctious, plus the parents all stayed.
This year we are planning to invite his kindergarten class. I'm up for doing something similar, but I'm worried because I don't know the kids very well and some of them are quite "spirited" . I don't know how comfortable I feel giving them the run of the house. I would guess that even if we try to block off areas, a few kids might go exploring anyways Also, even with the activities I listed above, I'm picturing the kids just running around wild and needing a lot of wrangling. I don't mind a little chaos, but I don't want anyone to get hurt or anything to get broken. Has anyone hosted a party at home with a bunch of 6 year olds? What do you think about this plan? Thanks!
