N has had a fever, intermittent vomiting and mild diarrhea since Monday. I spoke to the doctor on Monday and he said to monitor him for 24 hours, by Tuesday he kept most of his food down and seemed to be getting better so I didn't bother bringing him to the pediatrician. This morning (Wednesay) his fever was 104 and he threw up the ounce of formula he drank so I immediately called the doctor and brought him in shortly after. His fever had broken by the time we got checked and he seemed ok but the doctor wanted to do a CBC and urine analysis. The tests came back fine but I've never of blood and urine tests for a fever? Especially on a ten month old with no prior health issues. At the time I just wanted to hear my baby was ok so I didn't think much of it but now I think that's kind of excessive. Does that seem excessive to you?
