In the spirit of Halloween, I'm also reading short stories by Daphne du Mauier (http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Look-Now-Selected-Classics/dp/1590172884). Have you read Rebecca? That's a great book, perfect for this time of year!

I just read A Discovery of Witches and the second book in the series, Shadow of Night and they were really fun reads!

I also highly recommend all of the Game of Thrones books - so good!

I love mysteries by Mary Higgins Clark. You can get used ones really cheap and they're so exciting but easy to read--you can just relax and not stress your brain out.

For a quick read, Mitch Albom has a new book out: The Time Keeper. It will make you think.

I finally jumped on the Hunger Games bandwagon and I'm LOVING it! just finished the first book. Tough to put down.

@JessiBee: pretty much! Like "My Sister's Keeper." I thought the book was amazing. The movie sucked. I was so disappointed.

I also generally enjoy Paulo Coelho. I read the newish biography of Catherine the Great this year too, though you'd have to like history an awful lot to enjoy it. I'm currently reading C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy for a book club, but I'm not far enough in yet to recommend it.
