I'm currently reading Prenatal Parenting and The No-Cry Sleep Solution. Both are good!
In the spirit of Halloween, I'm also reading short stories by Daphne du Mauier (http://www.amazon.com/Dont-Look-Now-Selected-Classics/dp/1590172884). Have you read Rebecca? That's a great book, perfect for this time of year!

Books that are better than the movies:
The Hunger Games
The Help
Twilight
Something Borrowed
Really great YA (young adult) books:
Looking for Alaska
The Fault in our Stars
The Book Thief
Matched
Books that made me think and cry:
Message from an Unknown Chinese Mother (this book is really upsetting and could be hard to read if you are pregnant or just had a baby, I unknowingly taught it about a year after my daughter was born and I still struggled to keep myself together)
The Glass Castle
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
That's all I can think of right now I love reading! Which, can be a little difficult with two kiddos hahaha

I love mysteries by Mary Higgins Clark. You can get used ones really cheap and they're so exciting but easy to read--you can just relax and not stress your brain out.

@Coco Bee: Does your library have online renewal? I make frequent use of it!
@Sweet T: @MamaBehr: Isn't the book pretty much ALWAYS better than the movie?!
For a quick read, Mitch Albom has a new book out: The Time Keeper. It will make you think.
A few others I've read recently:
The Three Weissmans of Westport (Cathleen Schine)
The Last Time I Saw You (Elizabeth Berg)
Remarkable Creatures (Tracy Chevalier, and everything else of hers!)
The Birth of Venus (Sarah Dunant)
Loving this thread!

Some that haven't been mentioned yet for fun fiction: The Shadow of the Wind, Carlos Ruiz Zafón; The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society: A Novel, Mary Ann Shaffer; The Thirteenth Tale, Diane Setterfield
I also generally enjoy Paulo Coelho. I read the newish biography of Catherine the Great this year too, though you'd have to like history an awful lot to enjoy it. I'm currently reading C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy for a book club, but I'm not far enough in yet to recommend it.
