I would love some suggestions for books and craft/art type activities for a 7 year old girl. Ideally the craft would be something she could do without any help. And she has enjoyed reading in the past, but I don't know what 1st and 2nd grade girls are reading right now! Help!

Klutz kits are great - I’ve gifted them to my Goddaughters (6 and 8) and gotten raves. And Princess in Black might be a good series?

Zoey and sassafras books are also cute. My 6yo is pretty into perler bead projects. You can buy kits but once you have a bunch of beads you can also just print new patterns online. I helped her at first but now she can do them herself. Good for a kid who can sit still and focus.

I'd head to Michael's or AC Moore and get a canvas and paints with paint brushes. My nieces and nephews LOVE painting, and there are YouTube videos that help them create canvases.

Dory Fantasmagory series by Abby Hanlon is a good one.
