What books are good for what to expect the first year(s)? I'm looking for something with general guidelines, milestones, etc. I know there is "What to Expect the First Year", but surely there are others.

You will probably end up wanting to read a book about sleep...maybe all of them. Seriously.
If breastfeeding, you might want to read a great book about breastfeeding before and then again during the first year.
You might also want to read a book about introducing solids, depending on the route you want to go. -

Dr. Sears' The Baby Book is really comprehensive even though I'm not too into attachment parenting.

I really liked The Baby Book. I also have Baby's First Year from the Great Expectations line... it's okay.

@boiledpnut: I'm more of a google-everything kind of person, but the one I hear about most frequently is the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding. I suggest the breastfeeding book because I have found that although I have had an amazing experience and very few complications, it is the thing I was having to read about most frequently in the first 3 months. Now it's sleep training (which you should read about before you have to 'train' and then maybe you don't have to even train them!)

@boiledpnut: I've read SO MUCH about breastfeeding, but not from any books. I've found that it's so much simpler and faster to read online. Kellymom.com is my favorite BF resource.
