What are your favorite books for 4 year olds? I feel like we're in a bit of a book rut and I'd love ideas for new books. Thanks for your help!

What books does your LO like? Any particular interests? (Sorry to respond with questions, but it's hard to give a good rec with just an age!)

@honeybear: I was trying to stay vague on purpose. I want recs for LO, but also we're going to a lot of birthday parties and I love to give books as gifts, so I'm looking for all sorts of recommendations.

@Bluebonnet: For birthdays I like David Wiesner's wordless books.
For read-alouds, LO enjoys/ed everything by Robert McCloskey (list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_McCloskey), lots of Dr. Seuss, pretty much all of the Julia Donaldson/Axel Scheffler books, myths, classic fairy tales, and many of the books by Tomie de Paola. He looks at our Richard Scarry books, too (I haven't read them as much to him in recent months because the stories are not really as good as the drawings).

Berenstain Bear books are heavy in our rotation right now (Forget their Manners, Bear Detectives, The Truth, The Golden Rule, Show Some Respect, etc).
We also like Dragons Love Tacos, Those Darn Squirrels, Pete the Cat and character books. My girl loves Paw Patrol - so she enjoys those books.

Mo Willems has a wonderful series about Elephant and Piggie - they are the cutest stories and really helped DD to read with expression!

Has she read the Ladybug Girl books? Those are a big hit around here. We also liked the "Crafty Chloe" books by Kelly DiPuccio, and the Ruthie books by Laura Rankin.
ETA: Oh, and Zelda & Ivy is another fun series in those learn to read style books - the themes are a little over my daughter's head, but she and I both enjoy them anyway!
