I tried a few ebooks and apps, especially when Charlie was younger and wasn't as into books. But I prefer paper books... it's just so awesome to sit down together and read a book with your LO.

We read all of the time on my Nook. He still also has paper books obviously, but enjoys them both.

I hope not! I want our children to grow up with that same love for books that I have. I do have a Kindle though and I love it but it could never replace a physical book for me.

I personally haven't gone digital yet, so I'd prefer for my baby not to either.
Although I'm sure in the future when I actually try it I'll have a different opinion. I used to say I would never want a fancy phone too... and now I have a droid

I like to do my own reading digitally but i think with baby, it's much better to actually have a real book to read from. Books like the ones baby can touch and feel, like "Pat the Bunny," just don't work in digitally.

I hope not! I love holding a book in my hands and flipping through the pages. We're going to keep our LO away from electronics for as long as we can.

I think that children's books should stay paper for sure. I love my kindle but I've already started collecting the classic books that I love so that I can read to my future kids!

I used a Kindle for a while but have gone back to paper for my own books. I hope childrens books will stay on paper. I like certain apps like the Dr. Seuss ABC one. To me, multimedia learning is good. I am trying to introduce the LO to the alphabet so we do a mix of flashcards, the app, singing the song, Sesame Street, etc. I think it helps make learning fun since she is only 19 months.

My mom kept all (or at least a lot of) my old childrens books in her basement... I'm hoping to pass those on to my kids eventually!

@sweetchic: My mom did the same! We have tons of Bernstein Bears, Dr. Seuss, etc. I can't wait until my LO is old enough to enjoy them as much as I did!

I'm using both. Paper books are definitely more fun to read together but there are also some pretty cool interactive books that my LO enjoys. Like @Mamamoose mentioned though, I'm also concerned about the amount of screen time LO might be getting and am promoting more paper books.

I hope not. I don't like using my iPad to read books on. Nothing could replace a real book in my mind.

I think there is a place for both. Whatever it takes to get kids to read is fine by me.

We have both and use both daily. my daughter has echildrens books/apps on my nook and we have been building her a library at home. When your traveling it really don't make sense to lug around books and an ereader would make more sense in those situations. We are constantly on the go and during car rides Se loves to look at picture books. When we are home though it's paper (or in this case Board) books all the way.

I LOVE my nook. To the point that I read more books faster when using it as opposed to a paper book (which I am currently struggling to get through).
However, when it comes to children's books, I'm all about the real deal.
