I just bought Shea Moisture's African Black Soap for acne prone skin and it's supposed to work for excema too. In a week or two I should know if it really works. I'm breaking out on my arms, back and face.

Cetaphil is the only thing that worked for me / and it only worked like 50% of the time! Mine was so stubborn!

My doc told me I could continue using benzoyl peroxide. I did throughout my pregnancy and it kept my cystic acne at bay!

@pastemoo: I haven't changed my face wash because I'm so sensitive but I use Belli pregnancy brand acne spot treatment at the recommendation from another HB user and I really like it.

Cerave and I exfoliate with apricot scrub and do use the one with salicylic acid once a week. I tried belli with my first and it didn't do a thing for me.

I used alcohol free witch hazel as a toner (and spot treated with salicylic acid rarely). Plus just a generic, mild, face wash. Try cetaphil plus witch hazel maybe?

I've been using the green tea scrub by St ives and Tea tree oil wash from The Body Shop. I'm still breaking out, but I also apply Clean & Clear spot treatment and that really helps speed up the process/clear it faster.

I found that getting facials where they do extractions has helped my skin. I have acne that awful on my jaw line and nothing seems to help. I even had the ob prescribe a prescription creme that is safe during pregnancy and that hasn't done anything. I'm slathering on benzoyl peroxide twice a day now in hopes that will help. Just this morning I popped 5 pimpled along my jaw! It's awful. Luckily I'm due in a couple of weeks and hopefully it will start to subside and I can use stronger stuff to treat it!

I used the Nutragena Oil Free Acne wash. It helped, but I still broke out a lot (especially on my back!)

@pastemoo: I stopped using my Rx acne meds when I was TTC, and my skin was AWFUL my first tri. I tried Cetaphil and tea tree oil, Belli, Mario Badescu, and Dermatologica, and nothing made a dent. Finally I bought some Proactiv+ at the mall, and that did help clear up my face.

@Alivoo01: do they make a salicylic acid free green tea scrub? The only one I can ever find has salicylic acids, which I like to avoid for frequent use, but I love that green tea scrub!!

@pastemoo: I've been using the bar soap for a week now and I love it. The pink breakouts have turned into tan bumps that match myour skin. The soap does a good job of drying out the bumps and shrinking them too. I haven't used the soap on my face because I already had a routine for that, but I had a doosy bump on my chin/ neck and used it there to another magical result. While the soap doesn't prevent breakouts it's keeping my skin in check from looking grotesque.
