Hive, please help. I’m at a breaking point with sleep. DS will be 6 months old next week, EBF. He’s slept through the night a few times around 3.5 mo, and went about 2 months waking just once at 3 am to nurse and fall back asleep. Now he’s waking multiple times per night and not going back to sleep after nursing. I haven’t slept more than 2.5 hours in a row in over a month. Bedtime is 6:15, he appears to have settled into waking briefly around 9-10 (I let him cry and he goes back to sleep), then at 12:30 he wants to nurse and usually goes back down, then 3:20 he is up to nurse but only goes back down 50% of the time. If I let him cry, he will SCREAM for 30-40 minutes which is hard to take at that hour. He is now also waking at 4:30 for the day. He's a big baby, and I know he doesn't really need the milk.

I feel like I’m doing everything the books tell me (drowsy but awake, early bedtime, consistent routine, no timed devices, no nursing to sleep) and it keeps getting worse. I need an action plan. In an ideal but realistic world he gets back down to one 3 am wake up and sleeps until after 6 am. I’m back to work in a week, so I feel like it’s now or never. Do you have books to recommend? What did you do with your LO? Any and all concrete suggestions, I’m willing to try.
