Does anyone have a resource for breastmilk jewelry in the US? I found an amazing artist in Australia, but honestly, I get nervous thinking about sending my one and only frozen ounce of milk overseas.
I found a couple on Google, but I always love recommendations. Thanks in advance!

They make jewelry using your breastmilk and they harden it with that stuff that I can't remember the name of... Anyways they make rings, beads, pendants, fill lockets and more.

@SerenaSF: The "uh" makes it sound like it's a crazy idea to you. Ha. I really, really struggled through my entire breastfeeding journey, so I want a little pendant or bead to remind myself of my resilience. Probably not for everyone, but I think it's so cool!

@anonysquire: Yeah, I have been looking on Etsy, but I was really hoping for a recommendation. Like I mentioned, I only have 1 ounce of frozen milk, so I am pretty reluctant to send to just anyone.

@T.H.O.U.: She does some work with ashes of loved ones too. Again, not for everyone, but I could see that being very special.

I can only tell you who I do NOT recommend. There's a company called MommyMilk Creations - the woman who creates them is out of RI.
I ordered my necklace from her in Septmeber 2013....and STILL haven't heard anything back in regards to when it will be done. She rarely responds to emails and she's pretty much shut down her Facebook because she was getting so many negative messages (I'm assuming from other women in the same situation as me).
I keep putting off asking for my money back, because I really want this necklace. My son no longer nurses and I have no more milk....so she was my last chance. I can't tell you how sad it makes me.
I hope you're able to find someone great to do this for you, because I really do think it's a special keepsake.

@littlejoy: I hadn't heard of making jewelry from ashes. We have R's, and that could be a really good keepsake to have. It seems weird somehow to just leave them on a shelf.

@youboots: I thought of that, but it's just such a tiny amount that I'm not certain it would be enough.
I think I'm going to go with the at home kit. I'm going to find a vintage locket in town, and pour into that. Thank you for the resources everyone!!

@littlejoy: I've been thinking about adding this to my business, actually. It's a very meaningful idea and I know how much it could mean to some mothers to have a tangible reminder of their breastfeeding journey.
I just have to practice with tons of my own before I risk someone else's precious milk!

@jedeve: same on all accounts. Then I got sad because I am done breastfeeding. Then I got excited because I remembered I still have frozen milk in my freezer I forgot to toss when LO was diagnosed MSPI. Then I decided my husband would think I was nuts and I prob really don't need to spend the money... lol

Bumping my own old post, because it's been a long time (I never had the jewelry made), but now that I have milk from both BFing journeys, I'm ready.
Reviving this to see if any US mamas have more suggestions. I really want something high-quality that I can wear everyday, and that'll stand up through the years.

@littlejoy: I ordered from Hollyday designs this summer. I got a pendant necklace and earrings. I have been very happy with them. I wear the necklace daily and the earrings multiple times a week. They have held up great! I had one minor issue and it was resolved quickly. Let me know if you have questions.
