Yeah if you're just talking about cow's milk I would just buy it after security.

I had no problems taking milk in a thermos and water for the baby through security. It just needs to go through separately. Security were really great with baby things.

I've done it, no problem, in a metal Foogo. I also bring food for my son in the food container style one.

Typically, though, I prefer to travel with sealed milk and food. That means if we need milk on a flight, I bring a sealed "juice box" style container of Horizon Organic milk. It's not my preferred method since it's not whole milk, but it works in a pinch.

@Foodnerd81: oh wait! We've also brought LO's food in her metal thermos container. So I don't think milk would be an extra problem, it would just require that test.

For me they've just tested whatever I put in a thermos/bottle - takes a few extra minutes at security.

I find that anything you can do to make the container look babyish/childish helps! For example, I've had regular bottles of water taken away from me when I brought them to mix with PediaSure, but when I put that same water in baby bottles or straw cups.....no problemo! If your thermos has a sticker or kiddie name label on it, that might help your case!

Ive had them test/make me sip it, and ive had them dump it. its a crap shoot.

Id just buy it after security.

I've never had a problem getting liquids through for LOs, even in straw cups or kiddie water bottles, but it probably depends on the mood of the security person.

I've never had a problem getting milk through security in a foogo... They just opened it and waved a test strip near the top, or put the thermos in some sort of light scanner machine.

I've taken milk through, no problem. It totally depends on the mood your TSA agent is in
