I just had this debate with myself and I went with the chicco. It just seemed way more comfortable when I saw them in person!
I really wanted a bsafe elite but it's not compatible with our stroller.

I feel like it depends on your stroller, and your car situation. The Keyfit is more narrow if you have more than one LO and more than one carseat. The BSafe fits into all the britax strollers without a converter.

I've got a friend with the Britax (and the travel system stroller) and she loves them. It is probably what we'll be buying too !

@Mrs.KMM: There's a great sale on Amazon today!
@Anagram: Yep, definitely depends on situation! I think for us, we might opt for the keyfit, as we just need one to fit a caddy stroller and the Britax doesn't fit any!

We got the Britax because we ended up with a B-Agile stroller for our first, and a B-Ready with our 2nd... so it was more convenient for us!

If we have multiples, the chicco keyfit is suppose to be more narrow than the britax... so my vote is for the keyfit.

DH didn't like the look of the Keyfit, he thought it looked kind of cheap, I thought it was ok. The Britax wouldn't fit in our car though. I'm tall and I need as much room in the passenger seat as possible. If you have a stroller that will work with the Britax and enough room in the car, that would be my choice.

@mrsjyw: where are you seeing the sale? Is it just for the carseat or for the travel system?

Britax has a new infant seat coming out that you don't need to rethread the shoulder straps, it looks really nice. Just throwing that out there

@bluestriped bee: @mrsjyw: Thanks!
I'm looking for the b-ready travel system and i've been stalking it daily to check for price changes... it went down $15 about a week ago and has stayed there but i'm hoping for more.... It's still at that price even though the included seat is cheaper on its own...(the system is still $1 cheaper than buying the stroller and seat separately) maybe the system will drop tomorrow?

@LaughLines: There's free returns on the car seat from Amazon. You could buy and return later.

chicco was the only car seat that fit in our car and allowed passengers to sit in the front!

@LaughLines: can you wait till the annual Free Ride event? Or are they not including the B-ready in the Free Ride these days?
clementine / 880 posts
@Anagram: I don't know what the free ride event is
baby is due a month from today - i at least need a car seat by then...

I went to a store and tried out both -- putting them in and out of the bases, carrying them around for a few minutes, etc. I found the Chicco's handle more comfortable so that's what we went with. We liked it.

Love Britax! Our b-safe has been the best out of the 3 we've owned (graco and saftey first).

Definitely Chicco, I'm not compatible with the Britax straps. They drive me insane with twisting and tangling and I never feel like I can get it on tight enough.
