We've been budgeting since July but now that we have a LO on the way, we'll need to adjust that budget. What types of things should I be budgeting in for the first six months or so, other than increased health insurance premiums and daycare (after 3 months)? I plan to EBP while home on leave and then EP for at least the first 6 months. Thanks!

I can only speak from what we had to do, with one child:
Increase line items for clothing, gear (car seats, umbrella stroller, bed), eventually groceries as he ate table food
Increase line items for vacations, as we had to travel by air and for long haul flights, we buy a seat
Increase line items for memberships, like the kids museum, soccer clinics, etc. -
Definitely increase your clothing budget. We received a lot of clothing gifts, but after the 3 or 4 month mark we started needing and buying things more frequently (more pjs, more socks, need a hat, need a coat, etc.)

My grocery bill went up a bunch while I EBF - I ate a lot (way more than while pregnant) and it adds up.
Besides diapers and wipes we were pretty set so not much gear/clothes were needed until the first winter at 6 months+ -

Even if you plan to EBF you may want to think about the cost of formula. BF doesn't work out for everyone and pumping at the office is a PITA. You will also need bottles. Increase line items for food, clothing, gas (lots of dr visits), and groceries.
